Free software for cloning HDD to SSD

    Hello everyone,

I bought a new SSD disk for my old laptop.

Now I would like to clone everything from the old HDD to the new SSD (Windows, installed programs, data etc).

Looking around I found AOMEI Partition Assistent, but the free version doesn’t allow me to clone the OS.

Could you please suggest a free software to do it?

    Thanks a lot

My first choice would be Macrium Reflect Free:
Macrium Reflect - Incredibly powerful software that allows you to create and schedule effective backups

Why are you replacing the old HDD?

If due to storage the yes clone the drive.

If due to failure, then reinstall from scratch.

It’s for storage, the old HDD is fine, I am going to use it as external disk.

            Easy way
Use a program Like Acronis True Image or Macrium Reflect.
Make the rescue usb and boot the computer from the usb
make an image of the drive.
            Change drives
boot with usb and restore image.
If needed, then expand the partition to the full drive or make new partitions
