First: I can connect via USB there is a mini usb port on the car media device.

Second: The android device is part of the car being the BMW E46 media unit.

Third: I went onto the IGO site and used contact for some advice:
                  Quote "
                  Hi,
Do not use apkinstaller, just click apps > file manager app, then you can copy from usb to internal storage.

                  Best Regards.

                  Sarah,
                  Sales Department" End quote.

But of course I do not have file manage app at present on Android car media unit?

Doing some research of my own it would appear there are numerous software products available to transfer APK files from Win10 to Android device? Trouble how does one know which one to use.

Equally I double checked all my actions when attempting to transfer via Bluetooth, which turn out to be correct(there is a page by page move on how to transfer by Bluetooth on Google search, all of which I had already attempted, as mentioned file did start to transfer then stopped),so why the “pop up” stating windows cannot install these files, as this was not mentioned in Google Bluetooth transfer details?

Just a reminder I do have mini sd card with all my android sat nav fully updated files in place. When placed in GPS card slot ,card is instantly recognised as GPS SD mounted, but I have no way of managing it to load? It even appears in internal storage but I can find no way to activate it?

Still hoping we can solve this issue…Back to the experts

ps: Just out of curiosity is a full wit twice as bad as a half wit??

twice as bad, half as useful but a hell of a lot more fun!!!
sorry - just having some fun with this thread as my only suggestion left is to take the car to a dealership - but being a Beamer, I’d expect you would need to have your cheque book at the ready.

Funs the in thing! Not a Beamer in the true sense, but built by BMW,2002 Rover 75 connesiour V6 2.5 ltr 42000 documented ,my baby. Everything original, totally pristine,…so dealership not an option just need my sat nav installed…don’t worry I will get there?
Why was I asked if I had USB connection?

Also you say you got the maps from playstore
The igo website and the rover say they come from iGO
Look at this at 15mins and 15sec

You also said the maps are on an SD card
Does the car unit take an sd card?

Ok Lets try and clear up a few misunderstood remarks (which if they came from me would not surprise me!!)

I also saw that IGO recommend USB, but that in a way that was what started this post ,as I got nowhere with USB,so I went back to IGO and they suggested as I quoted above
If you note their advice its to use USB to install via Android file manager, which I do NOT have installed, hence my reason for need to find a way to install APK files from my laptop, to car android device? Again as stated I do have all necessary APK files in place on my laptop. It has to be the laptop, as I would have a job taking the desktop out to the car!!!

(Advice on how to install via USB please) Somebody mentioned USB and I replied I had a full USB connection available.

I did NOT get the maps from playstore I downloaded the APK files (among them the APK file manager) from Google android play store.

The car has a dedicated GPS Satnav mini sd slot, which I thought I had made clear? As I said, I have a fully loaded mini sd card with a reasonably expensive IGO sat system, which all of a sudden my car media system will not install???
As soon as I insert the card in the GPS slot, the card shows as Sat Nav GPS mounted. It also shows in internal storage but I cannot activate it?
I also have second dedicated sd slot for media sd card which works fine.In fact there isn’t much this system cannot do (except for reloading my sat nav)
Plus lets remember this card was in place and sat nav running beautifully, until I removed it to do IGO updates??

I’m aware of the Rover 75 video, but its very dated, if you look carefully you can see that, post service support was almost non existent, I have yet to come across a 75 fitted with it, it was special order and an add on, it was included among some of the very early builds in the Connesiour SE series.
What is the date of the release of that video please?
Most Rover owners who require installed sat nav, opt for the BMW E46 for which the car is fully wired up. Its a straight forward plug and play.

So when you go to the touch screen do you have access to any settings?
If you still having settings on sat nav look for bluetooth receive files
