inbuilt in Win10, File History will do backups for you.
or try the free Macrium Reflect.

Thanks Bruce for the reply. I just created a System Image using File History. (Win 7). It took about 30 minutes, however if I look at the contents of the external hard drive, I see this. WindowsImageBackup 4/3/2022 9:53 PM File folder. But if I right click on it, the file shows “0” space taken up. When I did other backups using Paragon or whatever, it always showed the space taken up. Is this normal, or did I do something wrong ? Thanks, Mike

so on that external drive you see a folder called WindowsImageBackup, then a folder with the name of your PC, then another folder 2022-03-04 0953 and then inside that should be some .VHDX files which are virstual hard disks containing the image of each partition of the system disk.

        how does yours differ?

          Hi Bruce,
This is a screenshot of the external hard drive. going back to year 2015.
If i right click on each of the 6 backups, and then choose Properties, I see the following:
          Michael------64 GB
          arc908-------56 GB
          arc240-----100 GB
          arc3112----97 GB
          System Restore -------- 115 GB
          Local Disc C------------254 GB
          Windows Image Backup—0 GB

I had several other backups, but I have to delete dome once in a while for space.
Ithink I will try tthat Macrium Reflect this morning.

          Thanks,

          Mike

Windows backup has been deprecated so I would recommend using Macrium Reflect free to image your drive.
Once the image has been created you need to also create their boot USB.

Hi Bruce, I did that backup using Macrium Reflect. I like it. Pretty simple and easy to use. It showed 126 GB space on the external drive. I also created that boot CD/DVD disc. Thanks again for your help and suggestions. Mike

                I’ll close this as solved.
