I am using Excel 2021. If I have a spreadsheet open, and I click the SAVE button at the top left, I notice that the UNDO button is still dark gray and active. If I hit that UNDO button it will start UNDOING my work, back past my SAVE. It should only UNDO my work back to the last SAVE. Probably a setting I need to change ?? Thanks, Mike

was it working this same way with the previous version of Excel?
does the spreadsheet live in the cloud?
in my experience, UNDO’s goes back to when the file was opened or until the undo buffer limit is reached, by default, that’s a 100 I think.
I would want Excel to UNDO before my SAVE so I can keep undo’ing ‘mistakes’ otherwise I’m stuck with the SAVE I might not have meant to do. -
Thanks Bruce for the reply. All other versions of Excel that I used, worked a bit different. After you hit the SAVE button, there was no going back any farther past the last save. I always save the spreadsheet to a folder on my computer, not the cloud.Comment

I’m on Office365 and also have access to Office 2019, I just tested the Save then Undo feature and it worked the same on both versions.
that is, regardless of when you save, you can still undo before that point.
looks like 2021 is the same.
do you still have access to the version you were using?Comment
