    SSD and BIOS help

So I built my pc about 2 years ago and it was my first pc. I’ve had problems here and there but I fixed them and it runs pretty great for a $600 pc. My issue is that when I first started the pc, I entered the BIOS to choose a boot location but it was giving me problems with choosing my ssd. So instead I chose my 2T external hard drive as my boot option and I had no problems. But now I’m getting into heavy modding and playing games that require more from my pc. I’m getting new faster Ram sticks, and I’m getting a new faster ssd for improved load times. Though I have no idea how to transfer data from my old ssd to my new one and then chose the new ssd as the primary boot option.

Simplified version: I need to transfer data from old ssd to new ssd and set the new ssd as primary boot option yet I don’t know how.

I can give specs but I doubt they will be any help in this situation.

I would put the new SSD in the PC and disconnect all the other drives.
being the only drive, it’ll be the one Windows sees but get into BIOS first to check it is.
then install Windows afresh onto the new SSD.
after all that, when Windows, mobo drivers, and updates are all done, then connect the old SSD and transfer your personal files across via copy/paste.
