Question "This system cannot find bootable devices" in bios

I was basically updating my bios after updating drivers because i had a different issue and was hoping that updating my bios would fix it, i was able to update the bios but in the updated bios setting there is not boot priority available, i have windows on my ssd, and not sure why but it is not showing up even though it’s being recognized as storage.

what about selecting the boor order at start up?
it’s either F9 or F12 (can never remember) as the PC starts and that should bring up the Boot Order menu.

as to the BIOS, what about reflashing back the the previous version?
and I’d be really surprised if the basic function of not being able to change the Boot Order is not present in that BIOS somewhere.
in the last shot, what happens when you hit F7 for Advanced Mode?

F9 and F12 did not do anything on startup, i have not thought about reflashing back yet i will try that if there is not other solution, in the last shot when i hit advanced mode i get advanced settings for the bios as seen in the fist picture and and the second picture is my boot tab in the within the advanced setting. in that 2nd shot, the Boot Configuration can’t be expanded from that arrow?

and as the PC first powers up, you hit F12 repeatedly, and failing that, rebooted and hit F9 repeatedly - something should have come up.

are you confident you got the right BIOS firmware update for your motherboard?

after repeatedly hitting f12 it opens the bios and says “screen capture failed”“please ensure that USB flash drive with available space is plugged in, and try again” and then when i do f9 it opens the bios and takes me to the search menu.

I guess the next thing to try now is to reflash back to the previous firmware version.

I still feel there is a section in that BIOS menu system where it should list all the found connected boot devices and allow you to change the order. it’s a basic function that all BIOS menus that I have ever used have.

other things to try - only have the SSD connected, unplug any HDD and ODD and USB storage.
is the SSD a 2.5" unit or a NVMe?
if 2.5", see if connecting it to SATA0 makes any difference (if it’s not already).

i believe what you are talking about is the third picture in my first message, and it tells me it doesn’t recognize any boot devices but it does recognize my ssd and hdd as storage device as seen in the first picture of my first message.

also another person recommended me to try and install a windows 10 usb installer using media creation tool and use it to repair os drive issues would you recommend this as well, if so which one should i go about doing first

in all my years I have never flashed the BIOS back a version, always forward, but you will definitely not lose and data on your drives. the absolute worse would be the BIOS gets bricked and the PC won’t start, but the drives data will be unaffected and can be connected to another PC for retrieval.
but again, in all my years, I’ve never seen a bricked BIOS from flashing, although you do hear about them.

the reinstall of Win10 from a USB stick would probably not help in this instance although i certainly couldn’t rule it out, and would try it if nothing else is helping, if for no other reason than I’d have a clean install of Windows.

if the NVMe drive isn’t being detected as a boot drive after the BIOS update and it was beforehand, than logic would dictate that reflashing back to the original firmware would fix that.
BUT… part of the re-installation process of Win10 would reconfigure all the partitions on the NVMe and that may get you to the same end result. if you take that path, doing the re-install process, Windows gives the option of deleting all partitions before reloading, I’d be doing that.

so, I’d reflash first as it should only take about 5 minutes.
and I’d only reload Win10 if that didn’t help or if I simply wanted to refresh my OS.

good to know i wont loose my data but the other person im talking to is telling me different so im a little stuck. do you have discord per chance? maybe i could connect the both of you and you could figure it out.

yep, but it’ll be the same process you did when you upgraded your BIOS to the current version.
you’ll be doing the same thing again but the .BIN file that has the firmware for the BIOS on it will be the version the was on your motherboard before you upgraded.
