    Looking for encrypting software!!

    Hi

I want to encrypt an external hard drive and set a password on it. At this moment I use Microsoft bitlocker but the problem is that I want to access my files on Android as well.

In addition, I need a software which doesn’t need to be installed on every Windows desktop (Portable version or any other solution for that).

No different between locking a specific file and folder or a drive and creating vault (I prefer the second choice).

    Can anyone suggest an Application?

while not a suggestion, some things to consider.

when (not if) the encrypted disk goes pear shaped, or for any reason, and the drive has to be put into another PC/enclosure, can you access the files?
how are backups on your encrypted data handled, and are they in clear text and if not, can they be restored?

I used PGP (pretty good privacy) many years ago, but when Zimmerman had the run-in with the US government and released the source code, all sorts of backdoors had to be introduced to satify US regulations.

for all those reasons, I stopped encrypting my files, plus, I don’t have anything that critical that a BIOS password, login password and if needed, a file password can’t suffice.

Files that I want to encrypt them are not sensitive data and I don’t need to make backups. Those are just pictures and movies that I don’t want anyone has access to them easily. And I couldn’t find any other way to set password except encrypting.
