Can’t start laptop.

    Can’t start laptop.

    So I was updating my device drivers using an app on steam and had it automatically restart my computer. I was downloading a game while it restarted. When it restarted, there was a message saying that my computer will be restarted and gave me the error code :
    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
    I tried doing what the Microsoft website said but couldn’t get to safe mode because I can’t even get into the computer it just keeps looping the error message and the automatic repair page. I’ve tried resetting my computer and every option on the automatic repair page, nothing works. Please help me try get my laptop back, thanks.

    Also, my laptop battery is completely broken and can’t charge so I have to keep my laptop plugged in at all times.

    in the Automatic Repair, did you try the Restore Points?
    if so, and it didn’t help, and you have tried resetting your PC, you have little option except to reload a fresh Windows version.
    don’t suppose you have ever done a system image backup?

        If there’s no way to get my laptop back, can you tell me what I did wrong so I could avoid doing it next time?

          if I’ve understood your original post correctly, you updated drivers using a 3rd party program.
          all I can say is, from my experience, those driver update programs are complete crap and nothing more than snake-oil peddlers.
          they more often than not simply make things worse. admittedly, I stopped using them years ago after them similarly bit me on the bum as well.
          who knows, maybe they have improved.

          it’s a catch-22 but if you could get into Windows you could use Restore Points to ‘go back in time’ before the driver update.
          similarly, and we all know that horse has already bolted, have a recent system image comes in handy occasionally as well.

          so for me, your issue stems from that Steam driver updater.
          why the Automatic Repair options aren’t working for you, I cannot say at this stage.
          and from all the things you have tried, I think it’s time to ‘nuke it from space’ and go the full rebuild path.

          glad to be wrong and if so, hopefully others may chime in and offer alternatives for you.

            Thanks, I won’t use driver updates again even if they’re on steam.

              I just did the full reset, I deleted all the files and saved the important, it gave me two options, I chose the option to keep using my computer.

              After the reset, I tried to log in but I couldn’t log into my computer, how do I make another account to log into my computer?

                not sure why you couldn’t log back in - i assume it’s asking for a password you don’t know?
                how many accounts did it have, and have you tried any of the others that you can?
                what about the Administrator account?
                have you tried starting in Safe Mode?

                what is the actual error it is giving you?
                and lastly, since you have backed up the important stuff, you could always try the other option and don’t keep important files (you have them backed up seperately from the PC???) and reinstall a FRESH copy of Windows.

                  Please @miqi222 no need to quote previous posts, only contributes to forum clutter and unneeded mess.

                  You asked before what you did wrong.

                  Firstly using a driver downloader, ONLY EVER get drivers from the manufacturer of your hardware, and only when your existing drivers have an issue. If the driver is not broken DON’T FIX IT.

                  Secondly there is no excuse for not having system backups. Sorry but data you have not backed up is data you do not care about. Here is two free apps that could have saved you from this.
