I downloaded the Kaspersky Free version the day before Windows 7 became officially unsupported, hoping to have some slight peace of mind (just cannot switch to another OS right now, too much risk software will become glitchy, plus i don’t like what i have heard about Windows 10…I am happy with what i have!) So Kaspersky is blocking all my media players, itunes, etc, and is now trying to block Google Chrome for reasons unknown. I cannot remove it with Windows uninstall, so i am prepared to use the Kaspersky Uninstall tool…BUT I have read that the uninstall tool can mess up the computer. How can i prepare? What are the risks? Is Bitdefender any better than this? Is Avast Premium worth paying $1.99 a month? Is all of this pointless if i don’t “upgrade” my OS? Thanks for any advice!

I don’t mind backing up data, I actually have several external hard drives for that purpose. I have been worrying about the possibility of a virus going unnoticed by my anti-virus and then ending up on one of my backup drives, thereby ruining all backed-up files on that drive. Is there any way to prevent this?Comment

Hello…I need to back up my whole system and create a system restore point first… I will have to ask how to do that. The last time I tried to do a system restore it failed, so I am uneasy to rely on that as a backup option. Thank you for askingComment
