Backup Software for Windows 10?

I have a windows 10 computer, I have yet to back it up, and with the amount of power outages I get on the random, I feel like it might be a good idea to start preserving my data. I have a 1tb SSD and a 2tb HDD. I don’t see a program in the computer such as time machine on mac, or something of the sort that does an overall backup.

Windows 10 does have inbuilt backup, but it’s fairly ordinary, like anything free from Microsoft. You would be much better off with free versions of either Macrium Reflect, or Aomei Backupper. They are both excellent programs that can make reliable system images, and yes the sooner you get in the habit of making regular system images to external drives the better.

Windows 10 has two choices.
File History or Back up and Restore (Windows 7)
both are found in Control Panel.
and you could argue another choice is XCOPY.

all do the job but I’ve move away from them over the years, for various reasons, and use ViceVersa (not free) for backing up my personal data and Macrium Reflect to make system snapshots.

Macrium reflect is probably the most popular, but Aomei has a couple more features. They both are excellent.

Should you want both incremental and differential backup then Aomei is what you want.
Should you want to backup only certain folders and files the again Aomei will do that and Macrium free wont.

For creating system images they both will do a great job.

That’s still rather confusing to me, haha. I just want one that way I can restore my hard drives and whatnot should I ever lose power during a windows update. Windows seems to already back up only certain folders should I want it to, would that make Aomei the better choice?

OK, if you just want to make system images (full drive backups) try Macrium free.

Windows will make system images, but try Macrium, its more flexible.

System Service Exception, I ran DSIM and SFC scans, everything seems in order.
