    VMWare stopped working

I have been using VMWare Player for several years, but when I now try to launch it, I receive the message “VMWorkstation cannot run on Windows. Check for an updated version of this app that runs on Windows.” It’s been running for some time on Windows10, so I assume that an update has caused this problem. If I download and install the latest version of VMWare Player, will I lose all my documents etc that I have in there? Thanks

I couldn’t wait for MS or VMWare to release a new version and went looking for new VM software.
turned out the inbuilt one in Win10 called Hyper-V worked like a charm.
has to be WIn10 Pro though.
Thanks for that Bruce. Unfortunately I don’t have Win10 Pro so I’ll wait for a while to see if there is any other advice and maybe instal the new VMWare version and hope it doesn’t wipe out all the information I already have on the present version.
    Thanks again

        Hi phillpower
Yes, it’s now sorted. I was worried that if I downloaded the new version of VMWare, it would wipe out all my existing documents on the old version. Anyway, I finally went ahead and installed the new vesion. It works perfectly and has retained all my existing data. Hope this may be of use to someone else
