Canon BJC 800 Printer

I have a Canon BJC 800 Printer which I used to use with Windows XP (I am now using Windows 7)
The printer is very useful because it prints to A3.

Canon tells me that the printer is not compatible with Windows 7 and they have not produced a driver.

When I look on line there are several sites that list a driver for this printer to use with Windows 7.

Is this possible bearing in mind that Canon have not produced a driver?

Does you Windows 7 have a Parallel port for the printer to connect with?

There is no telling what they have done crack/hack wise to create that driver.

Have you tried to see if Windows 7 has a driver for it under Devices and Printers.

The printer is very useful because it prints to A3.

Can change in printer settings to A3 (11.7 x 16).

My existing printer doesn’t handle A3 paper.

Do you think it may be worth a try to download said driver?

Make and model, I have three different printers and each have the A3 in the setting plus I can manually set the page size if needed.
How are you attempting to set it for A3 size paper?

Will it cause any problems?

For stuff like that I only trust from the manufacturer.

Existing printer is Epson R220 (also prints to disk)
Printer has A3 in the settings - but does not take A3 paper.
Have tried connecting, but printer is not listed.

You typed the model in while I was looking.
The Epson R220 from 2005 is a photo printer so I’m not surprised that it won’t load longer paper.

Wishful thinking on my part.
I tried a couple of site that listed a driver for my needs - no luck.

Presumably if the manufacturer hasn’t produced a driver then there won’t be one??

That is correct.

You’ll need to look at a business class printer that has a tray to hold larger paper. Printers targeted for the home user don’t have this now.
