ADOBE FLASH PLAYER UPDATES

Is there anyone else out there that are driven mad by Adobe Flash Player updates?
How important am I really? Maybe I am the only person in the computer world that gets these constant, infuriating messages.
After I click on download, it is not like Adobe is any better or any different. Nothing changes. The messages just keep on periodically coming.
Should I be harbouring thoughts of some sinister reason that Adobe want me to click on these messages?

Be careful there are fake flash player updates out there, and why do you need flash? Flash is a great entry point for malware.

I always set the software for manually update.

Best thing to do is go directly to the site and see if there is a newer version and if so download and install.

I for one will be glad when flash is completely replaced by HTML5.

Flash updates usually appear the 2nd Tuesday of the month aka Patch Tuesday.
Windows 8.1 and 10 get the updates from MS for IE and not through Adobe.

Yes, those updates are important. In the past, before ransomware, 90% of malware came through Java and flash. Most removed Java unless it was needed for a program so flash moved to the head of the class.

If you don’t want to update, at the very least turn off flash in ALL your browsers (IE calls it activex). Note: the functionality of some websites will be broken but you’ll be safer.

I check here Adobe Flash Player Critical Security Update Released ~ Security Garden
on Patch Tuesday and use her download links (Win 7 computers) to get flash without all the junk tagging along.

IMO there are better and more lightweight PDF readers, such as

Foxit reader
Sumatra
Nitro
Pdf-Exchange
and more.

And some browsers have PDF readers built in.

Thanks everyone.
Plodr, I have re installed Adobe through Secret Garden as you recommended.
I will see what happens now.
Thanks all. Please close this file for the moment.
