Latency issues

Hello everybody,
I have an audio and video problem on my pc.
I first started noticing some small deviations on the sync of my audio and video which were a little annoying but not a really big problem.
But now i got these really big audio drop outs and this insane ‘crackling’ noise.

I searched a bit on the internet and came across a website where they said i needed to download this program called ‘DPC Latency Checker’.
I ran the program and got a huge amount of latency. (see image)
Now i already checked and internet has something to do with it, because when i disconnect my cable and put airplane mode on ive got less latency, but thats not all because even without any connection i still have to much latency.
When only using wifi (and not the cable) i still have high latency but not as high anymore.

I already tried updating my network, audio, gpu drivers but none of this helped.

Couple of observations while Twitch is offline/

Was Windows a clean install or an upgrade from 1703 to the present 1709.

The program that you have run DPC Latency Checker is not compatible with Windows 10 according to the software providers and in fact states the followingl

Windows 8 Compatibility: The DPC latency utility runs on Windows 8 but does not show correct values. The output suggests that the Windows 8 kernel performs badly and introduces a constant latency of one millisecond, which is not the case in practice. DPCs in the Windows 8 kernel behave identical to Windows 7. The utility produces incorrect results because the implementation of kernel timers has changed in Windows 8, which causes a side effect with the measuring algorithm used by the utility. Thesycon is working on a new version of the DPC latency utility and will make it available on this site as soon as it is finished.

You have multiple AV programs installed, Avast may be shown to be disabled but it is also up to date which means that it has been running at some point, you also have the Avast SafeZone browser installed, this will interfere with your internet connection.

Ok, so i removed avast, and i made an extra 10gb of space (on my ssd with my os on it) by putting all the videos, pictures, documents and music on my other hard drive, is that enough? Or do i maybe need to upgrade to a larger ssd?
Or maybe would a complete wipe of my hard drives and a completely clean install of windows help?

Did you read the DPC Latency Checker information.

You have uninstalled Avast but what about ZoneAlarm which you also had/have;

The storage device where Windows 10 is will be ok short term but not long term, see canned explanation below.

Just a fyi, I never include anything less than a 250/256GB SSD in new builds, 180GB partition just for Windows and another partition for most often used programs or games.

Please note that in order to avoid data corruption and/or mechanical HDD failure for you must always have a minimum of 20 to 25% of the HDDs or partitions overall storage capacity available as free space where Windows is installed and between 10 and 15% of a HDDs overall storage capacity available as free space if there is data only on it, the free space allows for information to be copied to and from the drive efficiently particularily important for Windows file swapping and the installation of OS and AV updates.

Not having the above can render a computer inoperable if the HDD concerned has the OS on it due to the MBR (Master Boot Record) becoming damaged/corrupt, please see information here and here

Good rule of thumb would be to keep the same free storage space on an SSD.

Do i also have to uninstall zonealarm? Because if i do i don’t have an antivirus except the build in one from microsoft, or is that enough?
And so new 250gig SSd it is!

Upgrade info acknowledged, what about the DPC Latency Checker info, would suggest you get rid of it.

Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 have an updated version of Windows Defender that offers the same real time protection as Microsoft Security Essentials, you do not need third party AV protection and by not installing any you are reducing the possibility of potential conflicts and freeing up resources on your computer.

Good call on the SSD, Samsung Evos are a good choice and are reasonably priced compared to others.
