    File extension headache.

This time, I would like some help.
I use a program which saves files in .asw format.
I wish to convert to .mp4 format.
Can’t find a convertor which will do this.
Renaming the file extension doesn’t work. It won’t play, not even with VLC.
    Any pointers?
    Thanks.

.asw as in ACDsee Slideshow Wizard files?
if so, and it’s been a few years and many versions ago, but ACDsee used to let you save them in different formats, like .exe (from memory) - that’s not an option?
I just checked some software I brought years ago that claims to convert ‘almost anything’, by Digiarty, but it can’t handle .asw - sorry.

      Thanks for the reply, Bruce.
The software is DP animation maker. Paid.
I managed to save as a Giff, but animation speed wrong.
I managed to save as .exe. Plays fine for me but cant post image on the Forums.
They are snow falling images and animation speed is very important.
Thought I would get in early before christmas, and get this sorted
I can do it with Photoshop but takes longer than a pregnancy to get it perfect. And only then with a program and a plug in.
DP animation is so easy if I can sort .asw to .mp4.
I will keep trying different methods.Maybe someone has a fix for this.

The only solution is to drop that easy program, with the proprietary extension that will only open in that program.

I searched yesterday for awhile and the only thing to open the file you have is the Desktop Paint program.

I even checked to see if VLC and IrfanView had some sort of plugin that might open that file. The answer is no.

              UPDATE.
After two days, finally I am able to play this correctly
Managed to export as an .AVI. Biggest issue has been rendering correctly.
Then I found WMP was a blank when I tried to play. VLC was also a blank and wouldn’t play .AVI’s.
Next I downloaded mega codec pack and installed. Then WMP played the .AVI
I googled why my 64bit VLC won’t play .AVI’s. Guy on the net said install 32bit VLC on my 64bit system.
This worked but graphics not as good as I would have expected from VLC.
I then installed GOM Player and played straight away, and graphics nice.
Was chatting with Gus, and he said to try POTPLAYER as well, and I will.
I would like to thank everyone who took the time to help. Much appreciated.
I am now a happy Bunny.
