How to get a URL from an Mp4 file?

A few days ago I reported that I couldn’t work out how to put a video on the forum.
I can’t find that thread because there isn’t a facility on here where I can click on my name and then click on “Find all posts from Heat Sink”.
I have therefore had to start a new thread. Please excuse me for that.
Today I entered a new post called “EVERYONE NEEDS A FRIEND”. I was able get the URL for this because it arrived like this below.
https://www.youtube-nocookie. com/embed/vnVuqfXohxc?rel=0&% 3bshowinfo=0

The video files I am talking about arrive from friends by email as an Mp4 file. One cannot right click on that and get a URL to paste on the forum.
How do I convert an Mp4 file to a URL?

Click on Watched Threads
Then if none are showing click on Show all watched threads
Which ever ones you happen to be watching and yours.

You can also use the search bar or click More for added features.

You can also click on you Name in the upper right
Select Your Profile Page
On the tabs select Postings

Here is the link that I believe you are referring too
https://pchelpforum.net/t/cutting-and-pasting-a-video-to-add-to-a-thread.18252/#post-30811

At this time there is no way to upload a MP4. You are more that welcome to request that be an added feature in PCHF Comments and Suggestions. Due to the file size restraints there may not be a way.

In the mean time you can copy and paste the link like you have in post #1

Host your Videos at a site like this. Then once you have the video link, then click on the icon in the reply box and past the URL. This should be what you want for sure.

Could you screen shot how they come to you, if the above is not what you are looking for. Then perhaps I can work out a way to help you.

I did what you said Mal, but the medium that you suggested wasn’t private enough. They want to include my name on the posts and not only that but they included other unsolicited videos that weren’t suitable for the forum. I dropped whole idea. Even Photobucket is changed since I used it in the past. All to do with advertising and stuff I guess.
Please close the thread.
