    Issue with Google Chrome Freezing on certain sites

    Hey guys,

    I recently started having a could issues with my Google chrome browser. I don’t know if these issues are related or caused by the same things, but they are occurring.

    It just seems to mostly be happening on Facebook. I am not on Facebook much, but I do have a couple of business pages I help manage, and this makes it difficult to get any work done. This issue seems to happen mostly when I am trying to look at the pages I manage, but it does happen with my news feed at times as well. Specifically when people have posted videos. If I click play on a posted video, it plays for a few seconds and then freezes up and either stops working, or keeps playing the audio without moving the video and the tab locks up.

    I just received a Chrome update prior to posting this thread, so I tried Facebook out to see if the issue was resolved, but it is not.

    I am running Windows 10 pro - version 1607 with the latest updates (the latest effort that has been deferred of course). I’m on my custom built PC. Lots of horse power in it, so I know it’s not my computer’s inability to process things. Here is my rig via PC Parts Picker:

    My current version of Google Chrome is 59.0.3071.86 (Official Build - 64-bit). Now, I believe at one point a few weeks ago, I un-installed and reinstalled Chrome, and the issue continued. So I have tried that.

    What happens is, I will simply log into Facebook and start poking around on it. I will go to one of the pages I manage, and everything will be okay for a moment, but as soon as I do something like use my mouse wheel to scroll down, the entire tab with Facebook running freezes. Chrome itself continues to work. I can open other tabs and ping pong back and forth between them, but the Facebook tab stops responding. I can hit the refresh button on the Facebook tab, and it doesn’t really do anything. Just sits there. I have to close the Facebook tab and re-open it to get back to work, and it sometimes still freezes after doing so.

    Microsoft Edge doesn’t have this issue. It sometimes lags on Facebook, but it ends up being able to load the pages without freezing. I don’t like Edge as much as Chrome, so I would like to not have to use 2 browsers to get things done. I am a big web browser tabber, and I like all my pages to be accessible without having to minimize one browser window to get to another, or to split my screen between the two.     I stared having another issue while logged into my Google account at Google’s website the other day. I looked it up online, and foud a YouTube video where someone else had the same exact issue I was having. This is what it was doing:

    Looking through the comments, one suggestion was to use the control +/- keys on the keyboard to come out. That seemed to fix the issue. Apparently, going above 90% zoom can cause the issue on bigger displays.

    Now, my monitor is a curved ultra wide monitor with 3440 x 1440 Resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio. Reading through more of the comments on that YouTube video, there are some people saying that after certain Windows updates, Chrome does certain things like these issues on larger displays.

    Using Microsoft Edge, I’ve had less issues, but it to does a few weird things at times. The only thing I changed display seeing wise in Windows display settings was, I changed the text size in Windows display to 125% so all text in apps, folders, act was bigger, because it’s quiet small when left at 100% on this screen. But I did this a long time ago, and just recently started having this issue. I’m not sure if any Windows updates happened right before this issue or not. I’m running a MSI 1080 graphics card btw if that was needed answered.

      Please install Windows 10 creators update.
      Please visit device manufacturers website and install latest versions of device drivers for graphic card, chipset, mouse and keyboard.
      Maybe one of the add-ons causing the issue disable add-ons to make sure non of them causing the issue.

        I would suggest trying Fire Fox to see if the problem really is with Chrome.

          Have you installed any plugins?

          Try uninstalling all of them and then re-install them one by one.

            [li]Download CCleaner from here.[/li][li]After install Click Options.[/li][li]Go to monitoring.[/li][li]Uncheck All Monitoring items.[/li][li]Go to advanced – Click close program after cleaning.[/li][li]Go to settings – click run ccleaner when the computer starts.[/li][li]Now that you have ccleaner installed and set-up:[/li][li]Open the program.[/li][li]Go to Tools[/li][li]Go to Startup[/li][li]Now double click each item.
