gus,
Thanks for that.
I am trying different defraggers, but I would very much like to find out what the problem is with Auslogics, why can’t I download it etc. etc???
You will note that it does say ad-supported. That’s probably the reason why Avira marks it PUA (Potentially Unwanted Application) due to the ad engine.
Totally agree with Plodr, if you look around you will find Auslogics apps have been causing issues with AV’s for years. Add to that Malwarebytes aggressive new stance with “possible” PUP’s. If you dont want to exclude Auslogic from Malwarebytes maybe it’s time for you to seek another AV. You say you are using Malwarebytes free which after a trial period resorts to a second opinion AV only, so Malwarebytes should not interfere with downloading anything anyway. If Avira is flagging it too, perhaps you should move on unless you wish to exclude Auslogics from Avira.
You’d be surprised at how little the hd needs defragging. The inbuilt works fine and is set to defrag once a week on a schedule. I’ve been using it for 3 years and my desktop computer is used daily.
If I had to choose of an alternative for Auslogics Disk Defrag, then I would install Defraggler since its made by the same company as CCleaner which is one of the best temporary file cleaners.
