BSOD after turning on XMP1

Bought brand new RAM and just installed.
BSOD happened before I bought these RAMs and assumed my orignal RAM was bad after running a Memtest.

After installing these new RAM I immediately turned on XMP1. Whiling running for about 15-20min with discord, google chrome, and bluestack opened. Bluescreen of death happened.
Then I disable XMP1 and so far it is running fine.
However I wish to get the extra push with XMP for my RAMS.

This is the dump file. Can you tell what is causing the BSOD?

Nothing to do with the RAM but all to do with Nvidea GPU drivers.

We will move your thread to the more appropriate Windows 11 BSOD then add by way of an edit some instructions for you to follow, please do not reply meanwhile.

As is so often the case Windows has been reinstalled but not done correctly, see my canned info below;
Once Windows has been clean installed you must then install first the MBs chipset drivers, then the storage/SATA drivers and third the graphics drivers, the drivers can either come from a disk provided by the motherboard manufacturer or downloaded from their site and saved to a flash drive etc, this is a must and Windows should not be allowed to check for updates before it has been done as more often than not Windows installs the wrong drivers or in the incorrect order and this can cause all sorts of problems.

The required chipset, (Intel) SATA and (Intel) VGA drivers can be obtained from here

Does this mean I have to wipe SSD and reinstall windows again or is it ok for me to install the right driver now?

Can we have the exact PSU model name or number, Thermaltake are not the best with even their RGB Titanium 1500W unit being rated as one to avoid.

Can you also let us know which version of the MSI RTX 3080Ti, different versions have different minimum power requirements, what we can say for sure is that based on just the brand of the PSU, the additional storage devices + you having four screens hooked up to the GPU the present PSU is not of the required standard, see info @ Which power supply do you need?

Regarding the drivers, Windows should always be installed on either its own drive or on a minimum of a 250GB partition on a larger capacity drive, there should be nothing else on the drive/partition other than the system drivers.

You could try installing the drivers now but I suspect it would be of no help, the alternatives being backing up personal data on the drive then doing a reset choosing the keep nothing option then try installing the drivers as described in my reply #4 or as above do a clean install choosing one of the given methods.

I downloaded the right driver like you suggested
so far I am not getting any bluescreen. However when playing Apex Legend FPS shooting game. I sometime get a error message saying “video card has been physically removed from the system”
I’m assuming there’s not even power going through my GPU and is causing this error message to pop up?

All my files are on a different drive. The only programs that are on the same drive as my windows is the games, microsoft office, and adobe photoshop.

Since I am no longer getting the BSOD and is just getting error message on my game (video card has been physically removed from the system). Do you still recommend me reinstalling windows? I am definitely going to also get a bigger PSU

The PSU was rated as – Tier B • Mid-range here your build is anything but mid range and therefore needs a PSU from the Corsair RM range or above, EVGA or Seasonic, you will know which units are the best from them as they will have a minimum of a ten year warranty period.

The error message that you have seen in Apex does not mean that the GPU is not getting power, we will come back to this at some point.

Your computer to do with as you see fit and we are only here to advise, if you want to keep programs on the boot drive it is your choice but likewise it is you that gets a headache when something goes wrong with the drive or the OS on it.

No need to reinstall Windows at this time, just create a new system restore point then get back to us to let us know how things have been going.

I downloaded all 3 in that same order.

I turned off XMP and my computer runs fine now besides the error message I get from Apex.

When I do turned on XMP. My PC freezes turn black and crashes. When I am running Apex with XMP. After a few minutes, Apex would crash. And sometimes the whole PC would crash.

So now I am just running the PC with XMP disable and it is no problems.

I did order a new PSU. I got both EVGA Supernova 1600 P+ and Seasonic PRIME 1300 Platinum SSR-1300PD
The EVGA Supernova 1600 P+ looks a little longer than the usual PSU. So incase it doesn’t fit in my Lian Li Mini Air, I have the other to install and returned this one.

After installing the PSU, I’m just going to wipe my PC clean and reinstall windows 11 with the right driver in order.

One of the other things that were noted in Speccy was the fact that there was no RAM information given, can you post the brand and model name or number of the RAM, the amount and how many sticks.

Both PSUs are massive overkill and therefore a waste of financial resources, the EVGA however would fit as you case can accommodate PSUs up to 200mm which just so happens to be the size of the EVGA. ideal for your PC would have been Corsair RMx Series RM1000x only 188mm as well.

Would holdoff doing any clean install because you now stable computer suggests that it will not be required, do it whenever you really nee to.

I feel like my PC is not running as smooth as it should be. When playing Apex, streaming on discord, and running bluestack (streetfighter duel). I would feel a little small lag and not completely smooth. As before, it would be smooth like butter. I could even had watch youtube/netflix on top of that and I wouldn’t feel any small lags at all.

The above explains your XMP problem, see my canned explanations below;

The RAM when XMP is enabled is not appropriate for your CPU, Intel state here up to 4800MHz for DDR5 and if you have XMP enabled the RAM will get auto OCd past what the CPU can handle and the PC fall over., the SPD speed of 4800MHz is all that your CPU can handle unless you manually OC the CPU to suit.

Modern RAM has two speeds, SPD (serial presence detect) and XMP, SPD is what the BIOS detects on boot which for DDR4 is most often 2133MHz and XMP which when enabled will set the RAM to run at the maximum speed that it is capable of.

Regarding your PCs performance issues, the common denominator there is an internet connection is required and looking at your Speccy reports I`m not surprised you are having problems, take a look for yourself and you will see multiple connections + the one that is most likely doing the most damage the System Services and Service Process which has a whole load of services unable to connect, they are the ones that say (Querying… ) rather than Established.

( 1 ) Don`t have so many tabs open all at once.

Get rid of anything that you no longer use program wise.

Don`t allow any third party applications to auto connect or auto update.

If you use OneDrive upload manually rather than automatically.

( 2 ) First off they are important and secondly they are part of Windows and need to be left well alone, fwiw though some services can be disabled but there is nothing to gain by doing so + there is every chance you may disable the wrong service by accident and end up with a non booting PC.

I went ahead and wipe windows and reinstall all the drivers you mention in the right order. I also went ahead and install Software and utility/Dual Intelligent Processor 5.

After installing and running Apex for the first 2 times. My whole PC crashed and had to reboot. (Screenshot attached - how it should look vs when it crashed)
After the 3rd time I ran Apex and it was totally fine and was very smooth. I even ran bluestack while on Apex and it was still smooth.

Any idea what causes my PC to crash like that?
