Computer Freeze after playing PUBG for 5mins

    Hello there,

For the last 3 days I’ve been having constant pc freezes while playing this specific game (PUBG-Steam), it doesn’t happen with any other game or program on my system.
I play for about 5-10mins and the pc suddenly freezes and I need to turn it off at the power button. I get no error message. I’ve updated all my drivers and windows is up to date. Initially I though the problem might have been with the latest NVIDIA driver update (since the timing of the crashes was coincidental with the installation), so I rolled back to the one before, but the problem persisted. Before the first crash, the day before, I had been playing the game normally, no crashes no problems, computer is not new, and the only thing that I can remember that got updated was NVIDIA driver + experience program.

I suspected it might have been related to my AV/firewall Norton, as it keeps blocking the anticheat service and game from reading the AV process ( Printscreen1 Printscreen2 sorry it’s in portuguese, can’t seem to change language w/o reinstalling Norton). I have given all the permissions available on the firewall to this process. I have changed the processes to have admin rights. I’ve checked that AV log further, and long before I got the crashes, the AV has been consistently blocking the same access, so I’m not sure anymore Norton is the cause.

I’ve had HWmonitor and task manager open during gaming , and the temperatures don’t go over 60ºc nor do I run out of RAM or processing power.

Tried gaming after a fresh game install and running sfc /scannow and only the game froze, I was able to terminate the process in the previously opened task manager (2nd screen, as the 1st screen becomes completly frozen and doesn’t allow me to alt tab anything there).

    Thanks in advance!

Ps.: I didn’t find any recent dmp files in the minidump folder to upload

Dunno if this might help, checked the event viewer and had the following errors:
A TCG Command has returned an error.
    Desc: AuthenticateSession
    Param1: 0x1
    Param2: 0x60000001C
    Param3: 0x900000006
    Param4: 0x0
    Status: 0x12

^ After a search on google it seems to be related to my Crucial SSD. The thing is that’s my windows drive. All my games are on my samsung one. How or why is it only the game PUBG affected?
I found some forum post from 2018 referencing some kind of wipe solution on the crucial forums, but the links aren’t working, I couldn’t find the crucial forums on their website anymore.
Unable to open the Server service performance object. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the status code.
    Perfnet 2004

This one is more recurrent on the list, but not related to the time of the crashes. I tried the solution provided on MS forums, only to find it was already on automatic :\
Session “OWEtKernelLogger” failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000022

I have a couple of this error on the list, and have ran the suggested DISM and System file checker.

      Hi
I am not into gaming but willing to try and help.
      I found this
      [HEADING=1]Pubg Keeps Crashing on PC[/HEADING]
If your game is crashing, it could be a rendering issue due to your graphics card driver or graphics processing software.

      [ul]
[li]In Steam or your other game launcher, find the option that says “Validate Game Files” or similar, and run that. See if any files are missing.[/li][/ul]

      And this
“It’s worth noting that a lot of users with FPS issues, stuttering (leading to freeze crash`s) or otherwise, have gotten some respite by disabling the Xbox DVR. To do that, go to Game DVR in your Windows settings:”

Also are you running Java - If you are can you uninstall it for testing.
      Cheers

[li]When I encountered the problem 1st I validated the files, when it didn’t work I reinstalled the game, to no avail.[/li][li]That option is something all gamers have turned off It is known to be a pain in the ****.[/li][li]I’ve uninstalled Java 32 and 64bits, restarted. Managed to play 2 games with no system freeze. The 1st game crashed to windows, but didn’t system freeze. I’ll keep you posted if it crashes again.[/li][/ul]
