Monitor looses signal and pc freezes while gaming

So I built a new pc about a week ago, I hardly downloaded anything besides steam and chrome in the first days so I could play for a bit (and downloaded the fan control system that came with my motherboard), I downloaded some games and started playing and after some minutes or sometimes immedietly when i start playing some games my monitor shuts off but the sound and pc still responds for like 10 second then it freezes but it doesnt turn off, I have tríes everything to fix ir and have been trying and searching different ways for several days but nothing seems to work, somehow I can play ghost recon: wildlands and green hell (which are demanding games) with high graphics having good, stable fps with good pc temp with no crashes and play for hours, but then play games like dead by daylight or risk of rain 2 (which are mid-low demanding games) and as soon as i get in a match or a couple minutes later the issue happens, I have updated the drivers, lowered the graphics, checked temperature constantly, and I have done a lot more things that i have seen relate to this problem but nothing seems to work, thanks in advance for the help.

You need to provide information about your computer, is it a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if a brand name, provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the CPU, MB, the RAM (including the amount) add on video card if one is used [COLOR=rgb(226, 80, 65)]and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable folk to better assist you.

So that you are aware that there is a difference between overheating, hardware failure and software crashing, see the below;

Software such as Windows can crash and when it does crash you get a BSOD and when enabled a crash dmp is generated, third party programs may on occasion close to the Windows desktop.

Hardware failure such as a weak power supply and/or overheating are not software related and when a computer freezes, restarts, suddenly turns off or the screen suddenly goes black or jumbled the behaviour should be described as the “computer shut down unexpectedly” etc and not as having crashed as the latter implies a software issue as opposed to an obvious hardware issue when described properly.

Having the correct info means that helpers will not be looking for a software issue when the problem is clearly hardware related.[/COLOR]

Does the issue ever happen when you are only accessing the C: drive.

Looking at your hardware the GPU is the weakest link but if it will play more demanding games without issue you wouldn’t expect it to have problems with more basic games.

We can provide a means of testing your system but before we do can I ask if there is any connection between the games that you have the issue with, not a gamer so wouldn’t know one from another, such connections could include if the games were played online, multi player or from the same games server etc.

It do es not happen when i acces the stuff that i have in the C: drive, I cant see any connection between the games honestly, and lowering the graphics does nothing, I can spend a lot of time in the menu and it doesnt crash the game but when i enter a match the crash happens, dead by daylight is multiplayer and risk of rain 2 is multiplayer and single player (Although I have been playing only single player), at first I thought it was the GPU but as you said it is weird that i can run more high end games with high graphics without my pc crashing and with good fps but not mid to low end games, I play l4d2 and at first it crashed but lowering antialiasing and multicore rendering worked and I can play it fine, I tried the same with other games and sometimes it extender the game lifetime (it crashed after 20 minutes) and with other games like risk of rain 2 ultra graphics and low graphics makes no difference (the temp is always stable and is no where near overheating)

Download and run CrystalDisk info standard edition from here

Run the program, grab any screenshots and attach to your next reply for us.

Click on the ALT key + PRT SCR key..its on the top row..right hand side..now click on start…all programs…accessories…paint…left click in the white area …press CTRL + V…click on file…click on save…save it to your desktop…name it something related to the screen your capturing… BE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A .JPG …otherwise it may be to big to upload… after typing in any response you have… click Attach file to add the screenshot.

First one is the Hard drive that i use for games and the second one is the C: hard drive, first one is all in spanish (its my first language) but the second one has some parts in english, if you need me to traduce some stuff tell me and i will.

Both drives are ok so we should run those tests but can I ask a question or two first.

You built the PC a week ago, was Windows a clean install on the C: drive and after installing Windows did you next install the drivers for the MB and starting with the chipset drivers first and the storage device (SATA) drivers second.

Yes, windows was a clean install on the C drive from what I remember, now, i dont exactly remember what I did next so I might have not installed the drivers now that i think about it, how do I check whether I installed them or not

After clean installing Windows before you do anything else you must install the chipset drivers for the MB, couple of reasons for this, the chipset is what enables your MB to be able to communicate with all of your other hardware, the chipset drivers must either come from an installation disk that shipped with the MB or alternative be downloaded from the maker of the MBs download centre and if you don[ICODE]t do these steps Windows can download and install the wrong drivers for the chipset when it checks for and installs updates, this may or may not be what is causing you the present problem/s but the fact that you cannot remember if you did a clean install of Windows and what you did next is not a good sign I[/ICODE]m afraid.

i built my pc, tested to see if it worked with by brothers monitor (mine was on the way) and got to the booting screen since i didnt had any OS, after that it remained off until i had my monitor and i bought windows 10 as the OS, after that i installed the monitor and used a usb disk reader to install Windows 10

So clean install of Windows but no system drivers, could be your problem but then again as previously mentioned possibly not, we can run the tests now and come back to the drivers later if needs be.

For the most accurate results I would download and save to the C: drive first the following two programs, run the tests and see how the PC behaves, if no problems, uninstall the programs from C:, download and save to the second drive the same two programs then run the tests again, pain I know but we need to cover all bases.

back with the results, the GPU stress test went fine in both hard drives (it was the same for both), tested extreme settings and it didnt crash and was nowhere near overheating, with max antialiasing, fullscreen, 1920x1080, the stable fps i got was 15, but i didnt experience any crahses or malfuctionings in any of the hard drives, now for the SUPERPOSITION test just as the GPU it was the same for both but this time with 1080 extreme i got 23 stable fps, experienced zero crashes and problems, and no overheating whatsoever.
