    Crashing and reboot

    Hi all

I had started a trend explaining that I got a new custom built PC. (Maybe it can be viewed on my profile for some reference).long story short the pc would boot up ok and after some light usage (5-10. Mins on Google) the screen would freeze and the system would shut down with no warning and then restart. So I then proceeded to contact supplier (I have 3 year warranty) to get to the bottom of it..

I see the trend is now closed but the reason I didnt reply to the last post was because it took so long to get answers and get the PC back (I apologize). So the supplier blamed it on windows so they then reinstalled windows and sent the system back.. and still the pc does it.. screen freezes and then restarts.. the supplier says they carried out stress tests and it passed.. which to be fair I ran stress tests before I sent the system back and they passed.. I honestly don’t know what to do..

I have sent an email explaining this and a photo showing hardware error and unexpected shutdown and what the next steps are..

Some advice would be much appreciated

    Thanks

    Hello Pw123456,

The advice given in your previous thread here still stands I`m afraid because if you start tinkering with this yourself you will void your warranty and as a result be stuck with a faulty purchase.

What I suggest you do at the earliest opportunity, phone the PC provider and notify them that if you do not get the matter resolved to your satisfaction you will be contacting your local trading standards authority and the citizens advice bureau, you should also check out Resolver who are really good at getting results when all else fails.

As a side note, it only takes a moment or two to update a thread and by doing so helpers will be more likely to step in again to help you in the future.

        Good luck (y)

          Hi all
Still no word back from supplier. However I tried a different monitor and it has seem to stop what it was doing (I didn’t run the pc to long as i was busy).. could it be that the monitor is to blame here??? I’m going to run the pc again and see if it does it again

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the first monitor and then the second monitor that works.

              Hi,
So I managed to get in contact with the supplier again with symptoms and they believe it’s the GPU. So they have suggested going to a trusted (to them) local PC shop and they have put GPU in place of the old one and it works perfectly. The supplier is sending out a new GPU once in stock and they will replace it. Faulty GPU is at fault.
