Screen turning random color while gaming and PC unresponsive

So a few minutes after I start playing certain games, my monitor will freeze and turn into a random color (pink, cyan, green, black, white, etc.). This problem is also accompanied by the audio getting into a loop the majority of the time. The only way to get out of this is to restart the PC using the power button, only to have the problem repeat itself whenever I launch the game. I’m fairly certain overheating isn’t the issue, as the problem occurs at around 58° C, and whenever I ran Windows Memory Diagnostic there were no errors. Help is greatly appreciated.

That is typical of something overheating, this includes the most important of components and the one of which we cannot obtain the temps of, the PSU.

An 850W PSU sounds great but it is no good if it does not have the required efficiency rating the build requires.

What is the brand and model name or number of the PSU.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

What is the brand and model name or number of the PSU.

I believe it is a Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 850W. I also saw TTP-850AH3FCG on the PSU itself.

Not the best of brands but a fully functional GF1 850W is more than enough for your build.

Speccy is not too bad but you do have a couple of things that need taking care of, not sure if either are the cause of the issue/s but both equally could be.

Your RAM is being OCd past what the CPU is comfortable with so rather than have XMP enable you need to go into the BIOS and manually set the RAM to 2933MHz, having 3000MHz instead of 3200MHz capable RAM would have done away with the need to do this.

The second issue is more serious, you are low on free storage space on the C: partition, why this is bad explained below;

For Windows to be able to run efficiently and to be able to update, on a mechanical HDD you need to have between 20 and 25% of the partition or drive available as free storage space at all times and on an SSD between 10 and 20%, if you don`t you risk Windows becoming corrupt or not being able to update which also puts you at risk of malware attack.

Data only storage devices should not be allowed to get any lower than 10% of free storage space of the full capacity of the drive/partition on the drive, this also to avoid data corruption.

Uninstall as many unused programs, games, videos and music files as you can and get yourself another means of backing up to, post back when you have between 20 and 30% free storage on the C: drive/partition and we can go from there.[/COLOR]

I freed up space in my SSD as you asked, and now have 41% free storage. When this didn’t work I went into the bios and set the RAM to 2933MHz. The problem persists.

Both should have been done at the same time in any event so not sure why you expected freeing up the space in particular to do anything, the RAM being OCd too far would be more likely to cause the problem and the lack of free storage space more likely to get your computer infected with malware and/or Windows becoming corrupt and you not being able to boot into Windows at all.

Post a new Speccy url and do the following two tests for us, don`t worry if Speedfan does not show the same readings as in the attached pic;

Download Speedfan and install it. Once it’s installed, run the program and post here any information it shows.

You have gone and clean installed Windows when it was not suggested that you do so, if you would like us to continue assisting you with this it is important that you only do as is asked and not go off and do your own thing, it not only wastes helpers time but is also counter productive as you have now created more work for us
