BSOD after major changes to pc

Hello everyone!

So I was having some errors recently with games crashing due to memory issues running 32gb as a single channel. I replaced the memory, did a full reinstallation of windows and most games were running perfectly until I ran Destiny 2 and got this BSOD during the game.

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
What failed: USBXHCI.SYS.

Not sure if this is relevant, but the only things I have connected via USB is my wireless mouse adapter and a wired keyboard. Drivers on the mouse are installed, there are no drivers for the keyboard at least not any that I was able to find. Windows has been fully updated as well.

See attached dump.

Your crash dmp is telling us that you have/had some sort of USB audio device connected to the computer at the time of the crash and likewise Speccy is telling us that you have a USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) Xbox Gaming Device connected to the PC.

What is the Xbox device.

Are the mouse and keyboard the generic type or a well known brand name such as Logitech or Razer etc.

Is the keyboard the wired USB type or the PS/2 type.

Is the mouse or keyboard in one of the red USB 3.1 ports.

Have you installed the Realtek audio drivers for the MB, if yes, are you sure that you installed the correct ones, there are two versions.

Just a fyi: The latest crash dmp is in no way related to your previous issue/s.

Thank so much again for helping me out and sorry for the late reply I was making some changes based on your last response.

So the xbox device is a wired controller. It’s connected to one of the front usb ports of my pc’s case.

The USB audio device I did not realize I left it plugged in when I reinstalled windows. That is gone as well. It was for a logitech G533 gaming headset.

I upgraded the audio driver to the correct version as my windows came after R2.

I switched the wireless mouse and wired keyboard to the regular USB slots. Currently there is nothing connected to the red ones.

The last BSOD went away after doing all of this but now I have a new one while playing Cyberpunk. I’ve attached the dump.

Also, not sure if it’s relevant but NVIDIA rolled out a game ready driver last night specifically for Cyberpunk.

No problem, we give members three days before asking them for an update (y)

No need for me to look at Speccy as your update info and latest dmp tells us that the issue/s in your OP had been resolved by you implementing the changes that had been advised, good news there then.

Your latest crash was indeed caused by the latest Nvidea/CyberPunk drivers, see attachments.

Do you have a restore point that is just before you installed the aforementioned drivers, if not, manually roll back to the previous version of Nvidea drivers and see how you get on, please do not update anything else while we troubleshoot this latest episode.

The previous driver was even worse. It has glitches and crashes everywhere. Their penis’ were literally showing through their pants!! :ROFLMAO: Two blocks into Chinatown and it would crash to a BSOD. At this point based on your dump analysis, this has to be cyberpunk/nvidia driver issue and maybe waiting for updates will fix it.

Last night, I played Diablo 3 for 2 hours, Overwatch for about 4 and Call of duty for about 2. Not a single crash. All running on ultra settings with the exception of ray tracing which stays disabled. I guess the first players of Cyberpunk are literally crash dummies at this point.

Thanks again! Your suggestions have made my gaming run a lot smoother.

Looking around online it would appear that it is the game itself that is the problem and the developers are being slated for rushing out buggy software, an example thread here

Nothing we can do with a buggy program I`m afraid so unless you get any non CP related BSOD over the next 48hrs are we ok to consider the original problem as resolved.

You are welcome btw

Edit to add: Your CPU has both AVX / Advanced Vector Extensions and AVX2 / Advanced Vector Extensions 2.0 so please disregard the info at the thread that mentions disabling the feature within the game.
