    Failed boot and Win 10 install

    So it goes like that,
    A week ago my PC couldn’t boot when I powered it on, I tried to re-install win10 but after selecting the SSD it should install to and after it finished copying the files it restarted and got stuck on the win10 logo and rolling dots for loading, it was for about 15m minutes and than I got a blue screen, since I have tried resetting the Bios and updating it, it had no impact, now when I try to install win10 it takes the PC ages to get to the point where it shows the popup for “Install Now” and after I accept it tries to get to the point where I can select an SSD but it doesn’t and I get a blue screen.
    At a certain point while trying things a blue screen blipped saying I had some windows file missing.

      Its custom built:

      CPU: INTEL I7 7700
      GPU: NVIDIA GTX1070
      MB: GIGABYTE gaming 3 or something like that
      RAM: 16GB not sure what is the company made it but its DDR4

        We are missing the answer to the first question and the PSU information, both are important else we wold not ask for them (y)

        Can I ask that you do not quote every reply, it really does not help any and just makes for unnecessary reading, thanks.

          Initially it couldn’t boot from the ssd after the bios screen, later not even from the USB
          PSU is an Antec 650w one I never got the name but it’s 5yo

            Sorry but that does not tell us how you tried to reinstall Windows 10, did you use the reset option in Window itself or did you use Windows 10 on DVD or a USB thumbdrive.

            Good quality PSU so less likely to be a power supply problem.

            Do you know how to get into the Windows recovery environment, if you can get there you may be able to use a system restore point, see canned info below;

            See if you are able to force the computer to start in the Windows Recovery Environment (RE) by starting up and shutting down the computer two or three times using the case power button, please note that you need to shut down the computer after the MBs splash screen and just as Windows attempts to load, if successful you should then continue to the Troubleshooting options and then hopefully be able to use a system restore point or Safe Mode etc.

                Couple of questions;

                Have you tried the above to see if you can get into the Windows RE,

                Did you disable secure boot in the BIOS before trying to install Windows, this is often required before a computer will boot from a USB device.

                Where did you get the Windows media from, was it downloaded direct from Microsoft.

                  What is RE?

                  I disabled secure boot
                  I installed the official win10 bootable usb/cd software from Microsoft’s site, the software that makes the bootable USB

                    The Windows RE was explained in my reply #6 if you could go back to it for us.

                    If you disabled secure boot and it is a Microsoft ISO the only suggestion I can make is for you to check the ISO on another computer, do you have access to another computer that has an internet connection.
