Every game crashes

So I got this PC about 2 years ago. The first few months it worked perfectly fine, but after that every game started to freeze for 2-4 seconds and give me the ‘‘xxx is not responding’’ thing, but I didn’t really pay any attention to that since I barely had any time to play games. Until now, I’ve tried fixing that a few different ways: Reinstalling Windows (Went from W10 to W7 and now I am currently using W10 Pro), Replace my video card with a new one (the same card), tried some BIOS settings, running my PC in safe mode, got another SSD, tried launch settings in games, getting new drivers, but nothing seemed to work. I tried games like CSGO, Gmod, CS 1.6, Minecraft, Team Fortress, Terraria, WWE 2K17, H1Z1, they all crashed. But now, CSGO exits to desktop and it still rolls. It’s like I am in the match but instead of showing the game it shows my desktop (I can still use voice chat, walk, shoot and everything). Minecraft, on the other side, gives me the ‘‘is not responding’’ error after 10-20 mins of playing. Here are my specs:

Radeon Software Version - 19.6.3
Radeon Software Edition - Adrenalin 2019
Graphics Chipset - Radeon™ RX 460 Graphics
Memory Size - 2048 MB
Memory Type - GDDR5
Core Clock - 1224 MHz
Windows Version - Windows 10 (64 bit)
System Memory - 8 GB
CPU Type - AMD FX™-8350 Eight-Core Processor

Thanks!

Welcome to PCHF Phalaenopsis,

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Can I ask that you do not quote every reply, it really does not help and just makes for unnecessary reading, thanks.

Potential problems we can see in Speccy;

RAM
8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 803MHz Your RAM is bottlenecking both the CPU and GPU as being a single 8GB stick means that it is only working in single channel and giving you 50% of the performance that it is capable of, please note that the most appropriate RAM for your CPU would have been 1866MHz, too late to change it now unless you purchase a matching pair as any new faster RAM will only run at 1600MHz in dual channel mode if paired with the present 8GB stick, Q. is the present RAM the type intended for servers.

Physical Memory
Memory Usage: 45 % The single stick of RAM is also creating high usage which will also cause problems.

2048MB ATI Radeon RX 460 Graphics Not ideal for the newer more demanding games, using a medium graphics setting on a 1600p screen res will only get you around 45+FPS.

Antivirus
Avast Antivirus
Antivirus: Enabled Not as good as it used to be and no longer recommended on many forums as it has become a bit of a monster in that it foists all sorts of unwanted add ons on to unsuspecting folk, you are running Windows 10 Pro so dont need any third part AV in any event, see my canned explanation below.

Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 come with an improved Windows Defender, it offers the same real-time anti-virus/anti-malware protection as Microsoft Security Essentials. Windows Defender also shares the same malware signature definitions as Microsoft Security Essentials, and Forefront Endpoint Protection. Technically, Microsoft Security Essentials has not been renamed Windows Defender, or combined with it in Windows 8, 8.1 and 10.

Having more than one AV installed on your computer is bad, it will slow down the computer, cause internet connection problems and leave you with no AV protection at all if they cancel each other out as they fight for resources.

If any AV product that you have is a paid for version you should always make sure that you have a copy of the product key kept somewhere safe just in case you ever wish to reinstall it.

You can uninstall Avast in the Control Panel but should you have any problems see Avast clean removal info here Please create a new system restore point first.

In addition to the above, make sure that Chrome is your default browser and not Edge.

Please do not respond to a question or a suggestion with another question when you have not done or replied to what has been asked/suggested!

What is the brand and model name or number of the PSU.

Have you uninstalled Avast.

May I ask where i said this, adding another stick of compatible RAM will help as it will increase the performance of the memory by 50%, it will not help with the mediocre video card that you have.
