Awesome We’re narrowing down possible issues

      [ul]
[li]Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt[/li][li]When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator[/li][li]When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, press Enter.[/li]
      [ICODE]sfc /scannow[/ICODE]
[li]Wait for this to finish before you continue[/li][li]Copy and paste the following command, press Enter.[/li]
      [ICODE]findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > %userprofile%\Desktop\sfc.txt[/ICODE]
      [/ul]
That will create sfc.txt on your Desktop. Please attach sfc.txt to your next post:
      [ul]
[li]Go to the end of your text (if any).[/li][li]Under ‘Attach Files’ click ‘Choose Files..’[/li][li]For ‘File name’ paste this: %userprofile%\Desktop\sfc.txt[/li][li]Click the ‘Add to Post’ link which will appear on the right when the file has been uploaded.[/li][li]Click ‘Add Reply’.[/li][/ul]
After you do that, run CHKDSK for us Run:
      [ICODE]chkdsk /f[/ICODE]
in Command Prompt and let us know if it finds issues If it does we’ll have to run some tests on the HD.

            veeg,

Apologies, but I was expecting a response from jmarket, to my last post.
Just to let you know I will be away from 29 July until 24 August, so won’t be able to respond during that period.

                  jmarket,

                  No probs.

As I mentioned a couple of posts ago, I will be on holday from 29 July - 24 August, so obviously won’t be able to respond until I return.
                  Hope this is OK?

                        Hey Roger.

Everything looks good. Have you gotten any new ones since then?

                          jmarket,

I presume when you mention “new ones” you are referring BSOD’s - the answer is no.

Meanwhile I am trying to put together another DVD Photo Slideshow of the pics I took on holiday.
(700+ pics with music background). (This is how I got the original BSOD.)

Give me a couple of days max. and I’ll let you know how I got on.

                            jmarket,

I have successfully created the DVD Photo Slideshow, in fact I did 2 the same, both OK.
                            670 pics + mp3 music backing.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the first time I tried (resulting in BSOD) it was a very hot day and the room was very very hot.
Do you suppose overheating could have been the cause.(Presumably, you didn’t see any problems in all the files I uploaded?)

I still have 2 in no. FurMark folders/Mini Tool Box/MTB/SFC on my desktop - please advise on best way to get shot of them.

Overheating is most likely the culprit.

You can remove them by simply deleting the folders. FurMark has it’s own uninstallation tool.

I think we can mark this one as solved??

Sincere thanks to all for all your assistance. (y)
