Again, nothing to update. The old fixed driver tends to give BSODs, the most recent just freezes. Awaiting further suggestions but folk seem to have run out of ideas. I may need to find cash for a better graphics card but dread spending money I can ill afford on a random card just to find it has the same problem. Still an issue, unfortunately.

Much as mentioned last time, the situation isn’t changing. It still has the issue and I think folk have come to an end of advice.
Unless there are recommendations of cards to consider. Unsure when I can get around to buying a new card though.

The WATCHDOG errors you were receiving were most likely caused by an overheating/faulty GPU. If you can give a budget, I can give you some ideas of some really good yet not expensive cards

Ah, there’s the rub. From past experience I can pluck a budget figure out of the air but I tend not to stick to it. Either I start of deciding I want to find something really (and unjustifiably) good and poring over the luxury items until I finally decide I’m dreaming, get down about compromise and reduce any original budget, or I spend ages looking at what I can afford and eventually push the budget up and up to try to get a better item for the money. It seems any budget started with never seems to relate to the one I end up with.

I’d like to find information on what I paid for the Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 all those years back, to give me a clue as to a minimum start figure, but do you think I can find anything ? What if we start considering something around the Β£400/Β£450 mark ? I’m unsure whether I can justify that but I don’t want to be disappointed in the result either.

                    Thanks.

I’m surprised your card lasted this long. It’s an almost 8 year old card

According to the specs, this card is a powerhouse but yet very light on the wallet

Unlikely to be now. Did check jmarket’s suggestion, was a little concerned whether, at the price, the spec would be better than I already have; but not found the time to make a detailed check. And what with the car insurance bill due soon, unlikely to be splashing out on a graphics card immediately.

                              Hi there @Slytod

My apologies for the delay. I’ve been working 45+ hour weeks so been kind of side tracked.

Do let us know if you make any changes or anything. Updates are always a good thing

To add to my last post, the card I linked to you is a lot better than your current one and is half the size, so more airflow flows and cooler on the components. It’s newer so hardware is newer, faster bus speeds, faster memory speeds, etc.
