New high end PC stuttering/lagging in all games.

Hello, so i have pretty unusual problem and im looking for PC magician of some sort
I wanted to build my new PC all by myself and did so, wasn’t that complicated but i ran to some issuess right away starting with my AIO liquid cooler’s LCD screen from corsair not working (everything plugged correctly(probably some software issue)) to my AIO liquid cooler pump not starting when i turn on PC and my temperature going to 88 degree on CPU (Usually just have to turn off PC and turn back on and it “clicks” and its working as intended) But let’s not dive into that to deep as this is not my main issue, just wanted to mention that incase it could have some potential connections to my actual problem.

So the main issue i have is stuttering/lagging randomly in all of the games i tried so far despite very high FPS, while lag happens my GPU usage usually drops to low % or to 0% while my RAM and CPU usage is stable when this happens so it is not CPU related i guess. So my screen freezes or stutters randomly for couple of seconds and than back to normal, sometimes i can play longer without any issues and sometimes games are unplayable at all (depends from my PC’s day i guess haha).

The PC is fresh, all the parts and windows11 - everything new.

My specs:

Motherboard: Asus prime z790 -a wifi
GPU: RTX 4070 Ti Super (Palit game Rock)
CPU: Intel i7 14700KF
RAM: 32gb(2x 16gb) corsair vengeance ddr5 5600MHz
PCU: Corsair be quiet 750W 80 plus GOLD
Storage: 2 ssd Nvme discs, 1tb and 2tb

The list is veryy long but here are the most things i remember that i’ve tried already:

Drivers:
Yes, uninstalling with DDU, GPU drivers reinstalled - didn’t help
Newest chipset from intel - didn’t help
Motherboard drivers - didn’t help

BIOS:
Newest version of BIOS? - yes.
XMP on/off didn’t help either
Restore to defualt settings - didn’t help

Other(fun part):
Tried disabling HPET - didn’t help
Tried disabling HD audio - didn’t help

I did set my power plan in windows to high performence
There is nor RAM leeking

Tried launching latency mon on desktop and ingame and results are like this:

On desktop: ALL green, nothing, just everything normal and message saying that all is GOOD
In games screenshot will say it all:

Here is screenshot from GPU-Z to confirm that the PCIe connections are correct.

So i tried to somehow get rid of “Wdf01000.sys” problem but couldn’t, tried reinstalling it and my windows just got bluescreen so i had to backup my windows.
I tried many other things not listed here but nothing helps and im giving up. Any ideas?? Please help

Welcome to PCHF,

First two suggestions, knock off any/all overclocks and desist from messing with any settings.

What games are involved.

Your MB has WiFi but is the PC hardwired or using a wireless internet connection.

After installing Windows did you straight away the chipset drivers for the MB followed by the SATA drivers, both are a must and especially the chipset drivers as that is what enables the MB to be able to communicate with all your other hardware.

Corsair and BeQuiet are two totally different companies so which brand do you have and what is the model name or number of it.

Change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, Ultra and High Performance are a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues, the setting should only be used for gaming type notebooks that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power, all it does on desktops is mess with the CPU cores.
1. Copy any dmp files from C:\Windows\Minidump onto the desktop.
2. Select all of them, right-click on one, and click on Send To> New Compressed (zipped) Folder.
3. Upload the zip folder using the Attach button, bottom left of the dialogue input box

I tried 2 games so far: Counter strike 2, Kingdom Come deliverence 2

PC is hardwired

I did install chipset drivers i did not install any SATA drivers yet.

I changed it to high performance to test if this would help with stuttering but no luck there.

Don’t have any dmp files in there.

Can I ask what you mean by the above that has been highlighted in red.

Too late if not done already as Windows will have installed something that it found, the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver should have been installed right after the chipset drivers, it only need doing the once as the IRST for SATA is being phased out.

The PSU is okay for the present components but would need to be upgraded if you add any additional components.

High Performance will actually make things worse.

Regarding the lack of any crash dmps, they are either not enabled or have been deleted which for as to possibly how we need to wait until we know what you mean by " so i had to backup my windows. ".

Ok so my thought was too weak PSU, but maybe you’re right. I don’t really think it is SATA drivers problem but if there is a way i can check it out somehow.

I mean that got a bluescreen on startup after trying to reinstall “Wdf01000.sys” so i needed to load windows from backup file that i did before an reinstalling this.

I didn’t delete anything myself. How to enable it ? And should there be any crash dmps if i’m not getting any windows crashes ?

Which is why there are no crash dmps, no crash dmps existed when you created the back up and only came about due to whatever you were doing with the below;

Before all else you need to make sure that Windows is stable and only then can you safely move onto any performance issues.

Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop.

Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options;

List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List Devices (Only Problems)
List Users, Partitions and Memory size

Click on Go.

Post the resulting log in your next reply for us if you will.

I attached a file that the MiniToolBox splitted out. Unfortunetely most of the things are in Polish language as the windows is installed like this, i can change the language of my system to English if you wish (i assume than it will be all in English).

Waiting for your response and thank you in advance.

Can I ask that you do not quote every reply, it can be detected as spam as was your reply + we have to read the full post to make sure nothing gets missed,thanks.

Sorry but we do need it to be in English so let’s try something else instead;

Download then run Speccy ( free ) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

What we can see in Speccy and in the order they are list there;
Graphics
MAG 274QRFW (2560x1440@180Hz)
Acer KG271 C (1920x1080@144Hz)

You should never ever mix the specification of your displays, it never works out and all that you do is end up confusing the GPU.
Operating System
Windows 11 Home 64-bit
Computer type: Virtual
Installation Date: 29.01.2025 17:34:55

Windows is shown to be a recent install and a lazy one at that, called lazy as rather than it be done properly the system has just been allowed to work using Windows own generic drivers, how it should have been done and for as to why is explained in my canned info below;
Once Windows has been clean installed you must then install first the MBs chipset drivers then the storage/SATA drivers and third the graphics drivers, the drivers can either come from a disk provided by the motherboard manufacturer or downloaded from their site and saved to a flash drive etc, this is a must and Windows should not be allowed to check for updates before it has been done as more often than not Windows installs the wrong drivers or in the incorrect order and this can cause all sorts of problems.

The reason why this procedure is so important, the chipset is what enables the MB to be able to communicate with all the hardware + are the first drivers that Windows looks for on boot.

In addition to the above;
Windows should always be installed on either its own drive or on a separate partition on a larger drive, this reduces the amount of free space that is required to be kept available + it makes creating a regular back a whole lot easier.

A 256GB SSD or separate partition on a larger capacity drive should be the minimum capacity allowed for.
Firewall
Firewall: Enabled
Display Name: Norton 360 for Gamers
Antivirus
Windows Defender
Antivirus: Disabled
Virus Signature Database: Up to date

Antivirus: Enabled
Virus Signature Database: Up to date

There is zero need for any third party AV and especially not one that includes gimmicks that are nothing more than added bloat to an already resource hogging AV.
Running: Armoury Crate Service

More bloatware which is also known to cause issues, go here for some examples.

Ok so what are you telling me to do in order to test the issue ? Disconnect one screen and see if this helps ? Uninstall armoury crate and AV? And make a new disc partition ?

Correct.

Once you have a stable computer only then do you create a new partition, waste of time doing it now as you may end up doing a clean install.
