    GPL-Related to atioglxx Dll file

I have installed Grand Prix Legends (GPL) game onto my Windows 10 PC and running AMD graphics. It is well known by the games followers that the game with AMD and linked to opengl? while in game won’t go to a track and crashes back to the desktop.

Solution for this as come from a fan, which is supposed to work, by replacing the atioglxx.dll file in your system with a different atioglxx.dll file that the fan as provided. You are supposed to find the following file in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\u03 92837.inf_amd64_9a77fba04d783a0e\B392251

I have tried looking for the above file but its not there in my files even searching for it. I’ve also looked at the OEF way but still can’t locate the file, so that I can put the different atioglxx.dll into that folder.

Any help on this would be gratefully recieved. See attached file for relevant info and instructions.

My guess for the file not being on your system is your graphics card is not the same as his.
Entries are put in DriverStore when software is installed, if the file isn’t there I’m assuming it is specific to one AMD GPU, and yours has a different one.

Hey thanks for the info Bruce. I think your right.

Tonight I searched manually (no auto search) every folder in the driver store folders and there was nothing there. Took me a good 30-60 minutes.

I could update my gpu but last time it screwed my desktop mouse and it become unresponsive. In the end my engineer friend had to put an old driver back in. Not sure that would solve my issue anyway.

      Hey oh as they say.

Only Atiog dll i could see, in the driver store, was on two occasions. But those dll files were inside a sub folder. I replaced them, after backup, with the fixed Atiog dll file, but still the problem remained.
I even tried replacing the Atiog dll which was directly in the System 32 folder and not the driver store folder, but still no joy.
          I’m at a loss now.

I’m not confident all the DLL movement is trouble free.

Have you used the DDU utility to remove the current GPU driver and get a new one?

              Hi Bruce and thanks.
No I’ve not used the DDU utility.
I’m worried about updating the gpu driver, although I’d love to and have thought about doing it.
You see a few years ago, I updated my gpu, from an auto update, and the mouse became unresponsive. In the end my local PC technician had to put in an older original gpu driver (dated 2015) to solve the problem.

Take a system image so you can go back to where you are now.

Hi Peter. Thanks for reaching out, your help and info.
Do you use a programme for the system image and is it straight forward to do?

I will find out what my specs are regarding the gpu and dll. I’ll get back with Info when next on my PC.

                  Thanks again.
