Cs2 Crashing/Freezing on Rx 580

Hello,

So It’s been some months since I’ve been having this problem where my cs2 just randomly freezes/crashes in the middle of game. I’ve been using the launch settings -vulkan so It’ll only freeze but If I don’t use it then the game crashes mid game, but vulkan decreases fps and I’m getting continuous stutters with it. The temperatures are fine, under 75 degrees. I’m not sure what’s causing this issue. Even If I close all the background apps the same thing happens. I’ve already tried few methods to fix this but none of them worked such as reinstalling drivers, downloading latest drivers, Updating motherboard bios, reinstalling the game. My previous intel cpu wasn’t crashing or freezing. So I’m pretty sure It’s a problem with the amd side. This doesn’t happen in most games. Also another issue is that If i back switch to desktop (Different Resolution) from cs2, It appears to be all black. My cs2 resolution is 4:3 1280x1024 and desktop is 1920x1080. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Here are some footage with -vulkan :

Is this the only game/program that you have the problem with.

Download then run Speccy ( free ) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Google lists many threads regarding CS2 performance issues.

Nothing wrong with your hardware but you do have a couple of issues, I will address them as they are list in Speccy;
119GB Lexar 128GB SSD (SATA (SSD)): 40 °C

Windows should never have been installed on such a small capacity drive, 250GB is the minimum size just for Windows and the system drivers, this because Windows is just going to keep on growing and rather than new OS coming out on DVD Windows will just keep on morphing into the next version of Windows, don`t think what anyone knows yet whether or not the next version will be called Windows 12 but with support ending for Windows 10 in October 2025.
Operating System
Windows 11 Pro 64-bit
Computer type: Virtual
Installation Date: 1/27/2023 11:37:11 PM

Windows has never been set up correctly from day one, see my canned info below;
Once Windows has been clean installed you must then install first the MBs chipset drivers then the storage/SATA drivers and third the graphics drivers, the drivers can either come from a disk provided by the motherboard manufacturer or downloaded from their site and saved to a flash drive etc, this is a must and Windows should not be allowed to check for updates before it has been done as more often than not Windows installs the wrong drivers or in the incorrect order and this can cause all sorts of problems.

The reason why this procedure is so important, the chipset is what enables the MB to be able to communicate with all the hardware + are the first drivers that Windows looks for on boot.
Power Profile
Active power scheme: High performance

Change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, Ultra and High Performance are a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues, the setting should only be used for gaming type notebooks that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power.

No follow up from the OP who revisited the forum so take it that no further assistance is required.
