Can someone confirm if my hunch is correct, and my RAM is faulty?

Previously I had this problem, and as it can be seen from the replies it was solved by turning off EXPO. But now I have the exact same problem with EXPO turned off.

I have done benchmarks (I used FurMark) on both my CPU and GPU, without any problems. So my suspect is RAM, I have done memtest86 without any results, but if I turn on EXPO I get crashes more often. So with EXPO turned off I get crashes every 1.5 to 2 hours, but if it’s turned on I get them every half hour.

Crashes only occur in games, never while browsing the web, or idling or doing benchmarks.

Is there any way I can confirm it’s RAM problem?

No results? Passing or error?
You need to let it run for at least 4 passes, preferably 8. Sometimes this takes overnight.

I apologise for poor expression, no errors is what I meant.

I thought that default 2 passes is enough.
I will let it tonight to do 8 passes and report my findings here.

So other can assist let get a speccy report.

Do not forget to post the make and model of the PSU if this is a desktop.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

try one stick at a time and see what that does will also narrow down the RAM being the issue using the A2 slot.

strongly suggest getting the proper RAM for the CPU for the reasons stated on Post 3 in you other thread since the setting that were suggested by @phillpower2 did not correct the issue.

If memtest comes clear, I’ll try it tomorrow.

What is considered a proper RAM? This one was advertised as AMD EXPO compatible.

Okay, I have done test both by memtest86 (I could only do 4 passes as I have a free version) and memtest64 and both came back with no errors.

What is my next move?

Tried one module at time. One works with same problem and the other one won’t even boot.

My bad, I installed the module wrong (I really need to fix my lighting), I’ll test it now.

possibly bad RAM waiting to see what the other shows.

main issue is it is the incorrect RAM for that CPU as has been stated before.

@phillpower2 states this in your previous post
The RAM is not appropriate for your CPU, AMD state here up to 5200MHz and if you have XMP/EXPO enabled the RAM will get auto OCd past what the CPU can handle and the PC will become unstable.

Stated by the CPU manufacture.

Both “work” with the same problem.

Yes, but with EXPO off (as it is) RAM frequency is at 4800MHz, so I don’t think that would be the problem.

Now for my next question, do I contact the manufacturer of the seller to complain about half working RAM?

I have missed that a new BIOS version was released few days ago, after I have flashed it, the problem seems to be resolved. Topic can be closed/marked as solved now.
