PC running slow after vacation

I left for a week on vacation and my computer was running great. After coming back everything is slow. Before I left I could be running a CPU intensive game with a live stream and a video up and the other monitors and wouldn’t drop a single frame. Now if I even have a live stream and video up or a game and some music, everything is choppy and slow. I can’t even run games above like 60fps without it being laggy and even on 60 fps its choppy. I updated graphics driver already as I saw that was the fix for some. I know in the past my computer would run a little slow when I got low on storage but I just recently cleared that out and have over 800 gbs of space. Can anybody give me some troubleshooting to make it go back to functioning as it was? I’m on Windows 10 and specs below as well.
Processor Intel(R) Core™ i9-10850K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz
Installed RAM 64.0 GB
Graphics card GeForce RTX 3070

So other can assist let get a speccy report.

Do not forget to post the make and model of the PSU if this is a desktop.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Have you tried using a system restore point that is at least a day before the last time that you used the computer before going on vacation.

What is the brand and model name or number of the RAM and how many sticks do you have.
Antivirus
Spybot - Search and Destroy
Antivirus: Disabled
Virus Signature Database: Up to date

S&D needs to go, it belongs in the past, is not very good, it installs all sorts of crap that you are not aware of and it can be a pain in the proverbial to get rid of, if you cannot get rid of it in the apps we will need to do it another way.
Power Profile
Active power scheme: High performance

Change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, Ultra and High Performance are a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues, the setting should only be used for gaming type notebooks that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power.

Couple of other pointers, you use a VPN which makes gaming online second rate and whoever installed Windows made the age old mistake of not installing it on its own 250GB partition on the SSD.

Sorry for the late reply,

I haven’t used a restore point. When I go use one I only have 3 from after my vacation. Not sure if there’s a way to access older ones.

Ram is T-Force Delta RGB DDR4 16x4GB

Can’t locate S&D in apps.

Power plan has been changed but no effect on the issue.

VPN isnt used all the time and used to not effect anything. Unfortunately windows was already installed so I had no input on that. Should/can I reinstall windows the correct way?

No worries, life must go on.

No system restore points prior to you vacation suggests that you do not manually create them and that is a bad call as one should be created before any update is installed and/or any system settings are changed.

Can we have the speed of the RAM as well.

Not being able to locate S & D kind of supports what was advised about it, it needs to just go away

Changing the Power Plan had to be done in any event so nothing has been lost there.

Using a VPN does affect things, it is it`s intended purpose, tellings games servers etc that a person is in one part of the world when they are in fact elsewhere, problem is that it causes delays.

Windows and the drivers are the last resort but they will have to be addressed should nothing else work, remember, only you know how things used to run and likewise only you know what if anything has been changed that may have caused this.

Process of elimination so suggest that you start by getting rid of the VPN and we find and get rid of S & D, see the below, we can wait on the RAM speed until you post the requested log;

Post an Autoruns log for us, see here

1: Extract the Autoruns Zip file contents to a folder.

2: Double-click the “Autoruns.exe”.

3: Click on the "Hide Signed Microsoft and Windows Entries” option.

4: Go to File then to Export As or Save in some versions.

5: Save AutoRuns.txt file to known location like your Desktop > when you click on File > Save you will then get the option to Save as type, click the drop down tab, change it to Text and then click the Save button.

6: Attach to your next reply.

Here’s the autorun log.

RAM speed says 800 MHz.

I will start creating restore points.

I got rid of the VPN and trying to locate S&D now.

From where are you getting the speed of the RAM.

Nord VPN is still showing up in Autoruns but there is no sign of S&D.
