You could leave as is until you make your mind up about the PSU.
if you don’t mind me asking. I spoke with retailer and they were willing to take pc in to have a look at it, however they obviously said it would be easier with me buying a new PSU and putting it in myself. they did also say that I could use the cables that are currently in the pc and wouldn’t have to rewire everything. seeing as Im not very comfertable rewiring everything, I figured I’d ask you if just using the current cables is safe on a new psu. if so I’ll just order a new one right away
and is there any brands I should stay away from? or should I just upgrade my corsair from 850 to 1000 / 1200?
[HEADING=2]“Corsair RMe Series RM1000e PSU[/HEADING]
[HEADING=2]ATX12V v2.4, 80 PLUS Gold, Fully Modular”[/HEADING]
looks similar to the one I have, just more powerful. 1200W was not in stock atm
The merchant is responsible here not you, what if it transpires that the GPU has been damaged by using too weak a PSU, if you start swapping parts yourself you void any warranty that you may have, you have been provided with 100% proof that your PC shipped with a PSU that did not meet the minimum requirements stipulated by ASUS so whoever selected and/or fitted the PSU is the one liable.
Glad to hear it but will leave your thread open for a couple of days just in case, your hardware should be playing Destiny 2 with ease and the fact that it isn`t means one of two things, the weak PSU or a weak Broadband connection are the only two items here that would be affected by you capping the FPS.

appreciate it, still haven’t had any issues. from my understanding from the threads I’ve read is that 7900 xtx itself is lacking some drivers for destiny 2 specifically and multiple other people had the same problem, didn’t matter which brand, just that it was 7900 xtx. will let you know if I have any further problems and then look into changing the PSU. just found it very strange I ran very much more demanding games without problems, but when it came to Destiny 2 I was having problems
again, I appreciate all the help I’ve been getting in the matter!
Yep strange that an older and less demanding game gives you such problems :unsure:
Regarding the PSU, entirely your decision because at the end of the day it is your PC to do with as you see fit, we for our part have provided you with the relevant information and it is up to yourself what you do with it.
I will leave you with my canned info regarding online PSU calculators etc, take particular note of the warranty information;
I would recommend a minimum of a Gold efficiency rated PSU from a proven brand such as Corsair, EVGA or Seasonic, a 1000W or above is recommended to be used in a system that has an ASUS RX 7900 XTX present so this must be your minimum, remember, it is the card manufacturer that is expected to honour any warranty should the card break, not a PSU calculator or some faceless person on the internet that says that it is ok to ignore any minimum PSU requirements specified by the GPU manufacturer.
again, appreciate the ongoing responses, does show me that you do care for the community here.
AMD has in some way confirmed that it is a driver issue Im facing, and their latest driver that came out late last night had a fix for Starcraft 2, but not Destiny unfortunately. it’s kind of hard here in Norway to send a pc back based off of warranty when I am only having problems in one game. however as they assured me that the psu wouldn’t be the problem, if my pc ends up failing on other parts I will defo send it back on warranty if there is something more convincing than " hey I can’t play this 1 game ".
there is someone that has been running surveys for 7900 xt / xtx to see how many other people are facing the same issues as I am, and even people with 1000W / 1200W are having the same issues, which leads me to belive that this specific thing isn’t a psu issue. Im not saying you’re wrong in terms of me having too weak of a PSU. I am still considering getting a new one, Im just not as comfertable rewiring etc.
just capping the fps ended up working for some time, but had a crash that evening. I then went into AMD Adrenalin and turned off " Surface Format Optimization " and ever since then it has been running smooth for me.
I will post a reply again if there is something else that comes up. I like to keep the people trying to help me informed
You are welcome and thank you for the information, not good that a GPU that costs circa kr14467.00 has such problems.
Fully understand what you say about returning parts but keep in mind that by accepting the PC the way that it is means that the merchant is no longer liable should the GPU fail because the PSU does not meet the minimum power requirement stated by ASUS.
GPU manufacturers do overstate power requirements so as to cover themselves, problem is they are the ones who hold the aces when it comes to honouring warranty agreements.
