Unable to play games from HDD from previous PC

Recently my old computer was damaged by liquid so I purchased a new one. I extracted the HDD from the previous pc and am using a 3.0 USB to SATA adapter to access the old files of my previous pc. The hard drive is recognised as Windows (F under devices and drives and all the previous files seem to be accessible. However, when I try to launch games which were installed onto this drive, it takes me through to the installation page of the game as if no game files are present, despite the fact that no modification has been made to the hard drive files. I do not know the exact specs of my previous pc however it was windows 10, so there should not be an incompatibility of operating system. Is it possible to play previously installed games through this process?

    Computer Specs:

    Intel(R) Coreâ„¢ i7-4790

    Intel HD Graphics 4600

    16.0 GB RAM

    Windows 10

    Hello

Your hdd has the drivers for the old pc via the OS .. So you will have issues with that hdd on your new pc’s mobo.. You will have to reinstall the OS with that hdd in your new pc.

No, new computer means that you will have to clean install any games or programs and fwiw it would be exactly the same if you were to replace a drive on the original computer.

Any saved data on the drive that does not need exe. files can be safely extracted from the drive using either mentioned method, such data may include, audio and video files, text documents and pictures.
