    Civilization V

I am and was a big fan of this game. Sadly since now quite a while the game crashes while starting so that I cannot play it anymore. I do not like Civilization VI as it is not of the same kind as Civilization V. So now the only game I can play, keeping MSFS2020 not considered, is Mastzer of Orion. Doesd anyone has an idea how to get Civilization V back to work? I run a system with W11 Pro, 11700k CPU and rtx3080.

Hello Hellmut, do you have this game installed via steam?

If so you can try this - Steam Support :: Verify Integrity of Game Files

If that does not work, have you tried fully uninstalling and reinstalling the game?

I have done all suggested fixes and none worked. So I am continuing playing “Master of Orion”!

you are running Win11, had the game ever worked with Win11?
if not, I would look into getting virtual machine software like Oracle VirtualBox or VMware Workstation and load Win10 or Win7 into the VM environment (or whatever OS used to work with the game).

looking like none of our members have played Civ V under Win11.

get back to us when you have some news on the virtual PC side of things if you are heading down that path.
