I have been having an issue where my mic won’t pick my voice up at times or other players voices will cut out at times in both party and game chat. It’s not a constant stutter. Sometimes when someone talks, they’ll cut out and I’ll hear a couple second buzz/beep noise (this doesn’t occur every time.) I’ve used three different headsets, wired and wireless, and my game audio comes through just fine, it just seems to be a problem with in game voice chat. This makes me believe it’s not a device issue. I’ve also used discord without noticing any issues with voice chat. I’ve tried all I can think of, such as reinstalling audio drivers and completely factory resetting my PC. I’ve gone to Epic Games Support page and created a ticket, but seem to be getting nowhere with them. I have been experiencing this issue since last summer. Has anybody else ever come across this issue? Anybody know any fixes?
Fortnite Voice Chat Issues. Game audio works but voice chat won’t pick up or come through headset at times.

I have contacted Epic. They have said they’ve tried everything on their end since I’ve done all their audio trouble shooting. I have just noticed a little bit of this issue in discord. The cutting out is not as frequent and only lasts for a split second.Comment

any chance you can test it via a Zoom call.
talk to someone via Zoom or Teams or what have you for a while and see if the problem persists.
if not, definitely not a hardware or device issue.
if it still happens, I would be trying a USB headset myself, have found them way easier to use, no issues with 3 pole or 4 pole jacks, no issues with headset vs headphone, no extra software needed, just plug and play.
what are the make/models of the units you have tried?Comment
