Any high graphic game I play keeps crashing

This problem is the most FRUSTRATING thing in the world. So basically I have this laptop for about 2 years now. I understand, that hardware goes out of date after some time, but I come back to the same games I played 2 years ago that didn’t crash, and now they are crashing. It usually goes like this: I open Assassins Creed Odyssey, I play it for about 10-15 minutes and in completely random spots (not ANYTHING to do with environment change or entering more graphicly needing environments) it crashes. The first time I noticed this issue was when I played Hunt Showdown for the first time. There the game used to crash randomly in every match I played. At that point I thought that maybe its just the game, but NOPE. I started noticing after 2 months that it’s with every Assassins Creed (the newer ones) game I play.

Going into the history of the pc, I have tried overclocking my CPU, but I think it didn’t work properly, so I uninstalled MSI Afterburner. I have all the drivers up to date, I even updated to Windows 11 just so the drivers would Install properly. I clean the fans 2 times a year (or if I see that to much dust has collected).

So other can assist let get a speccy report.

Do not forget to post the make and model of the PSU if this is a desktop.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Yeah, I guess it is DD I was honestly wondering what to do, since I didn’t know a way of finding what drivers I need updated and when I need them update, or if I even need to update a few of them.

What is the make and model of the laptop?

That is the ONLY place you should be getting the drivers.

Partition 1
Partition ID: Disk #0, Partition #1
Disk Letter: C:
File System: NTFS
Volume Serial Number: 664CF343
Size: 237 GB
Used Space: 147 GB (62%)
Free Space: 89 GB (38%)

Getting low on C drive space which in turn will make the drive work harder. Clear out as much as you can any personal data (documents, pictures, download) move to an external drive.

Other may have more information.

Last time I checked, it still crashed after like 20 minutes. Even after I cleared like 100 Gb off my C: drive. BUT today in class, I noticed that my battery expanded (laptop battery) soooo I took it to a PC repair shop, their gonna order a new one, in the meantime they will give me my laptop without a battery (working only plugged in) until my battery arrives. Will see if the battery was the problem. And if that doesn’t help, Ill try 2 things:
1. Move the game to my C: drive.
2. If that doesn’t save it, ill think about changing my CPU thermal paste (since, as far as I know, it hasn’t been changed in 2 years or for as long I have the pc)

So I just got my PC back, played AC Odyssey and it crashed again after 20 minutes. The laptop battery is removed, so it scratches that possibility off the list. Now I’ll try moving it to the C: drive.

your BIOS is old, see if MSI has a firmware update for it.
your 1TB Seagate D:\ has a few of SMART warnings, one for BB, another for C6 (related to C5), and BF.
so unplug D:\ from the system in case Windows is picking up issues with the drive while you are gaming and that’s causing the crashes (even though the game is now on C).

and lastly, long shot, try and elevate the laptop and increase air flow around the vents, just in case it’s heat related.
