    RTX 2060 Seemingly Getting Worse?

    Recently I noticed my graphics card isn’t really running as smoothly as I remember it. I’ll keep it nice and simple and say;
    • I’ve updated my driver, and even reinstalled it, twice now
    • My FPS is the main issue, dropping below 60 FPS on very simple games, such as Minecraft, League of Legends, Genshin Impact, and even Fall Guys?
    • I’ve restarted my PC to see if there have been any windows updates
    • This has only been happening within the last week
    • My PC, all together is under a year old

    My specs:
    Ryzen 7 2700
    16 GB Corsair RAM
    2 500GB SSDs
    1 TB HDD
    MSI RTX 2060
    650W PSU

      not being a gamer, I have little to do with FPS rates and trying to improve them, so on that front I’ll step back.

      but in general, you may be looking at PC maintenance, or hardware upgrade or fresh install of Windows.
      you could run some programs like CCleaner or Glary Disk Cleaner to clean up the PC.
      Windows also has the built-in Storage app to do some housekeeping.

      with hardware, FPS is related to a lot of components; web speed, GPU, CPU and RAM. improving one may help but generally highlights the shortcomings of the next component in the chain.

      and if the rig is more than a couple of years old, is may simply be time for a fresh install to start from a clean slate again. all Windows versions suffer from performance rot; from fragmentation, restore points, updates, the registry etc - things just slow down. a clean install gets the system back to what it was on day one, space and speed wise.
