FPS stutters when loading new parts of map

There are certain parts of maps that, when I walk across, cause fps drops. This happens every time and in most if not all my other games. One thing that I did notice is my ram usage also slightly drops at the same time the fps drops. I was hoping to upgrade my CPU to a Ryzen 5 3600, hoping it would help would help with it, but I’m hesitant in upgrading if I’m not sure its the CPU causing the drop.

    Specs:
    CPU Ryzen 5 2600
GPU Gigabyte RX 5700 XT 8GB Gaming OC
    RAM 16GB (2x8) DDR4 3200 (running in dual channel)
    MOBO Gigabyte B450M DS3H
    SSD Crucial P1 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME

Running on my 1080p 75hz monitor at all high settings and v sync is on (stutters with it off too). Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hi,

Have you checked Task Manager to see how your CPU and RAM usage is looking like during the FPS drops to verify that no other 3rd party programs are causing any issues?

Are you overclocking any components? Are you running Windows 10 version 1909?

Nothing is over 1% usage under CPU. The only thing that takes much memory that’s not the game I’m playing is, “antimalware service executable”, which takes a little more than 100MB. I just recently cleared the memory cache that was taking almost 9gb, but that still hasn’t fixed the issue.

None of my components are currently overclocked and yes, I’m running windows 10 pro version 1909.

Try performing a clean boot and see if the performance improves.

Also go into Control Panel< System and Security< Power Options and set the power plan to high performance as well.

I’ve just performed this and also updated my chipset drivers. I also cleared the memory cache. What I did try in one of my games and changed the API, which helped, but not totally.

Have you installed the latest video drivers for your video card from AMD’s website? Does lowering the games resolution help with the stuttering at all?
