    My gaming pc is underperforming, and i am unsure if an overclock will help

    I built my pc last august and got pretty good fps close to 240 in fortnite and over 120 in cs:go but now my fps has dropped to barely 60 in cs and barely 144 in fortnite with bad fps drops during games. really frustrated at the moment more because of the sudden fps drops that will go down to 40 50 and 60 fps during gameplay making it hard to play smoothly.
    Specs:
    Ryzen 5 2600 (not the x version)
    Nvidia MSI Geforce GTX Gaming X 1660 6gb
    Team T-force 8x2 gig 3000 mghz
    samsung evo 1tb ssd
    Ryzen Wraith stealth cpu cooler
    evga 500 w1 3 year warranty 80+ bronze

    Most common cause of FPS drops when online gaming is a problem with the internet connection, the service itself or security settings on the computer being the two most likely causes.

    Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

    To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

    In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

    In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

    Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

        The only thing of note in Speccy are Windows is well out of date and the internet connection/s look slow.

        Not a gamer myself so not much help when it comes to FPS but over the years through helping people I have found that when it comes to online gaming there are two things that hinder gaming, a poor internet connection and browser security plug ins, sort them and you are usually good to go.

        Something for you to do to see how your present set up handles video when not online gaming;

        Use the free versions at the following links;

        Stress test your GPU with Furmark

        For Windows 10: Check your FPS etc with SUPERPOSITION

            Sorry but if you do not do the tests that are suggested and then provide feedback I am unable to help you.
