Hi, I’m very bad with technology so this could be something very simple. But when I turn my monitor on it show the acer logo and then the energy star screen but then just shows a screen of nothing. The only button that works on the monitor is the “on” button and it definitely isnt the playstation or the hdmi as I have used it on a tv and it works. I have also connected my laptop using the VGA?(the blue wire with screws on it) and that didnt work.its an acer k222hql if the helps. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello BigEars22,
Sounds like the display has failed or is very near to failing, try the following;
While the monitor is on, unplug it.
Hold the power button down for 30 seconds to get rid of any residual charge in the screen.
Plug the power back in, keep your fingers crossed when you power up. -

Unfortunately that didnt work, there is a new screen however when nothing is connected, saying cable not connected. I’m assuming at this point this monitor is dead? Is it possible to sell for parts or not? ThanksOriginally posted by phillpower2Hello BigEars22,

That is normal when no cable is connected and would normally suggest that the screen is working, you normally get the No Signal message on the screen when the monitor detects a cable connected to one of its video input ports but no video signal is coming from the device on the other end.Originally posted by BigEars22, there is a new screen however when nothing is connected, saying cable not connected
The specs that I get for your monitor say that it has VGA and DVI-in but no mention of HDMI, are you using some sort of adaptor, have you previously had the screen working with what you are trying to achieve atm.
Can I ask that you do not quote every reply, it really does not help any and just makes for unnecessary reading, thanks.Comment
