Steam Big Picture and other games freezing my display

For some reason, some full-screen programs and games stop updating my display and some other full-screen games work normally. The program doesn’t stop responding, I can hear menu navigation sounds but my mouse cursor disappears and all my inputs still work. I don’t see anything on my screen change, but if I alt+tab back and forth after clicking a few times I will be on a different screen and for about 2 seconds the program will updated the display like normal then freeze up again.

I’ve played a few games in full-screen mode that it has never happened in - Dying Light, RIME, Mindustry, and Forager. It happens with Steam Big Picture mode and Killing Floor 2. I’ve also had it happen sometimes with Mark Of The Ninja and sometimes it doesn’t. Yesterday I played MOTN for a couple of hours without it happening then the next time I loaded up the game it started doing this and I tried alt-tabbing repeatedly and I think one time I actually fixed it and got to play but the last two times I’ve loaded up the game I couldn’t get it fixed.

I just loaded up and closed MOTN a few times and about half of the time it froze up.

      Hi,

Have you installed the latest drivers for your video card? Are you overclocking any components?

Also, please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions, thanks.

I have added my specs from Speccy and I’m updating my graphics drivers now from last month’s driver.

Sounds good. Keep me posted if the issue still occurs.
