    Strange, lets see if we can get rid of them another way;

Post an Autoruns log for us, see here

1: Extract the Autoruns Zip file contents to a folder.

    2: Double-click the “Autoruns.exe”.

3: Click on the "Hide Signed Microsoft and Windows Entries” option.

4: Go to File then to Export As or Save in some versions.

5: Save AutoRuns.txt file to known location like your Desktop > when you click on File > Save you will then get the option to Save as type, click the drop down tab, change it to Text and then click the Save button.

6: Attach to your next reply.

    Tutorial here

NB: Getting rid of these orphaned Avast files may not resolve you gaming issue but it does need to be done and asap, as previously mentioned Avast could affect Windows Defender compromising its ability in protecting your computer + Avast and most notably the plug ins that it foists on folk are notorious for affecting internet connectivity.

Don`t worry about how long things take, we are here as long as folks need us (y)

Using the To Disable or Delete? option as is explained at the tutorial here can you find and delete the entry that you can see below which btw is a pesky browser plug in.

We got rid of one but there are still two services remaining, this is why avast has fallen out of favour with so many folk

            Stopped: %1!s! Update Service (avast)
            Stopped: %1!s! Update Service (avastm)

Any improvement since you got rid of the avast scheduled update checker.

I do have a hardware test in mind but until we get rid of all traces of avast we will have no way of knowing if the orphaned avast files are responsible, run Process Explorer to see if it detects these rogue files, you can either download it or run it live from here

We may need to ask for a security expert to take a look at this as we should have been able to get rid of all traces of avast by using the steps that we have.

Couple of questions and a suggestion for you to try.

What is your preferred browser and is it set as the default

Do you use any of the following, Cortana, OneDrive or Skype.

Suggestion, connect your computer to the internet using the Ethernet port and do some gaming to see if the performance improves.

In case you are not already aware, for gaming a hard wire connection will beat a wireless connection every time.

Sorry for the the long wait I’ve been busy the past couple days. My preferred browser is google chrome, no I don’t use Cortana, onedrive, or Skype but they are installed in my computer, and the house that I live in it is very difficult for me to use an ethernet cable as of right now, but I am trying to change that.

Again thank you for the help and sorry for the wait.

No worries, it is forum policy to ask for an update when a thread has been unanswered for a couple of days.

You need to cut out anything that could be interfering with the internet connection.

You mention that Google Chrome is your preferred browser but is it set as the default, if not see Make Chrome your default browser

                      Uninstall Opera.

Disable Cortana, OneDrive and Skype, an example how to here

Once done, run Speccy and see if those two Avast entries are present then post back with an update for us.

                      Ethernet test info acknowledged (y)

                      You are welcome btw

Avast entries are still there and Cortana, One Drive and Opera are also still present in Speccy, those two Avast entries might be hiding in either Chrome or Opera (security plug ins) so we need to ask for a security expert to take a look.

Hello TRUF, let’s have a look.

We need a log from Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) to examine your system.

Please download the FRST 32 bit or FRST 64bit version to suit your operating system. [COLOR=rgb(250, 197, 28)]It is important FRST is downloaded to your desktop.[/COLOR][COLOR=rgb(250, 197, 28)]

If you are unsure if your operating system is 32 or 64 Bit please go HERE.

Once downloaded right click the FRST desktop icon and select “Run as administrator” from the menu"
                              Code:
                                                                [IMG alt="icon2.jpg"]https://pchelpforum.net/attachments/icon2-jpg.112/
If you receive any security warnings, or the User Account Control warning opens at any time whilst using FRST you can safely allow FRST to proceed.
Frst will open with two dialogue boxes, accept the disclaimer.
                              Code:
                                                                [IMG alt="frst disclaimer.jpg"]https://pchelpforum.net/attachments/frst-disclaimer-jpg.113/
                              [ol]
[li]Accept the default whitelist options,[/li][li]If the additions.txt options box is not checked please select it.[/li][li]Then select “Scan”[/li][/ol]
                              [IMG alt=“frst.jpg”]https://pchelpforum.net/attachments/frst-jpg.114/

Frst will take a few minutes to scan your computer, and when finished will produce two log files on your desktop, FRST.txt, and Addition.txt. They will display immediately on the desktop, but can be reopened later as a notepad file.
                              Code:
                                                                [IMG alt="2016-08-12_152002.jpg"]https://pchelpforum.net/attachments/2016-08-12_152002-jpg.115/
[COLOR=rgb(250, 197, 28)]Please COPY and PASTE the contents of these two files in your next post.[/IMG][/color]
