New to the forum and also to PC builds so forgive me if my questions seem dumb. I build my first PC a few weeks ago and it’s been running great until a few days ago. I noticed I’ve started getting “Default Radeon Wattman settings have been restored due to an unexpected system failure” notifications. Yesterday I was playing Doom and it blurred the screen out and the CPU EZ Debug light on my mobo came on. I turned it off and let it sit for a while and turned it back on. Everything turned on, the CPU light was off but the screen was black and the VGA light on my mobo was now on. Turned it off again, turned it back on and everything worked. Played Doom for awhile and ran flawlessly but then awhile later did the same thing. I’ve done just about everything I’ve found to do on the internet but I’m new at this stuff so I could definitely be missing something. Not the absolute best setup but I’m planning to upgrade to better mobo and gpu in the future. My setup is:

MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard
MSI Radeon RX570 8gb
Ryzen 5 2600x
EVGA 650
Windows 10

I’d Clean up the AMD drivers to start.

Ok, Attach the minitoolbox log, then try Speccy later. If it still fails…

is the fan on the graphics card going?

also concur on the drivers for the card as a good place to start.
had a AMD card years ago that popped up something similar ‘settings have been restored’ and my solution was changing the drivers.
sadly I can’t remember if getting the latest did the trick or going back a version or two.
a little bell in my mind is ringing and I may even have removed AMD altogether and then did a MS Update and let it get the driver it though best from the MS library of drivers.

also, being a new build, and your first, double check your CPU, RAM, mobo and graphics card are all compatible with each other.
eg: does the mobo support the memory MHz?
is the card PCIe16 or PCIe4 (or whatever) and it’s in the right slot?
does the card require extra power cables, and is your PSU good enough?

may seem like a noob area to check, but sometimes it’s the dumb stuff that gets us!

Hi Warpath8, Welcome to PCHF!

Have you set your power plan to high performance? Have you updated your BIOS to the latest version? Are you overclocking any components? What build of Windows 10 are you using?

Have you tried using just one stick of RAM and see if the crashes still happen? Do they only happen when playing certain games or will it crash regardless of what game you are playing?
