    Stuttering on new pc build

Hi guys, I just got my parts in and built a new pc. I’m using a AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPU, Radeon RX 590 GPU, 2x 8gb sticks of corsair vengeance 2933 ram in dual channel, 550w PSU, a Seagate Barracuda 2tb hdd, and a B450 Aorus Pro Wifi board, Windows 10 x64. I put it together, updated all my drivers and started playing some games and at first it ran great but has recently started stuttering bad. They dont last long but are frequent and very annoying when trying to game. It is not only when gaming though, it does it at the desktop and everywhere else as well. Surely it cant be a HDD problem or a virus as the system is only a few days old and I’ve hardly installed anything. Drivers are current as I’ve previously mentioned. Any help would be appreciated I’m a bit disappointed.

Edit: Temps are also okay, GPU hasn’t gone over 80 degrees c.

Update: Just updated bios to the latest version as well, still no dice.

Okay, so I updated the bios to the latest version, upped the fan curve just in case for whatever reason I was getting throttled for mid 70s temps (CPU stays around 40 degrees c) I disabled precision boost in the bios and diagtrack, etc, no change. My GPU utilization fluctuates anywhere from 50% to 100% when gaming, with the CPU anywhere from 0 to 40. All that normal? If anyone needs to know anything else just ask

Found the problem, monitors refresh rate is only 60hz and my frames were frequently exceeding 100 fps. Used AMD Pro settings to lock it at 60 fps cap. Will have to upgrade my monitor.

Well, I still had some small micro freezing, but ended up turning on Radeon Chill for a totally different reason and it seemed to cure it the rest of the way. Problem is fixed but I still don’t really know what was causing it

Micro stuttering is a strange issue with many different causes and it can be tough to track down one cause that will be apparent for all these types of issues.

It could be a corrupt OS install, outdated drivers, system temperatures being too high etc so its great that you found a solution though.
