    Upgrading Graphics Card

Hello, I was wondering if I could get some advice for upgrading my graphics card.

I tried playing an RPG game but DDI is not high enough, I have a 10.1 and need an 11.

I just recently started learning about computers, so I do not yet know what to upgrade to (if I can upgrade).

    I have Windows 7
My graphics card: ATI radeon hd 4200
My processor: AMD athlon II 2X B24 3.00 GHz

If you need to know more, please let me know. Thank you

Hi @Holly and welcome to PCHF

Do you know what Power supply you have in the computer? A picture and specs can greatly help

I got a screenshot of my computer information window, the system tab from DirectX, and the display tab. Thank you for your reply
Also, I don’t know what my power supply is. I’m not sure how to find out.

You will have to open the case and look for a label like the following one. Or you can take a picture of it and post that picture.

If it helps any folks, PC specs here list a 240W BTX power supply.

You should upgrade your power supply to something more powereful.

You won’t need more than a 550W PSU. A good one is the EVGA Supernova 650 G2. You can also try the Corsair CX750M

                Okay, Thank you.

After upgrading my power supply, would it be possible for me to also upgrade my graphics card?

                  Yes

Your CPU is a bit old. I would advise saving money and upgrading to a Ryzen 3 and a AM4 socket board as well

You have two problems with this, the power supply and motherboard are not the standard ATX type and the computer case is the SFF (small form factor) which can only accommodate low profile add on video cards, you will not find a good quality brand/adequately powered BTX type PSU and there is not the room for a gaming quality add on video card inside of such a small computer case, you need a whole new computer for gaming I`m afraid

Some additional info for you, the present PSU is the one here (note that it is not square) and the motherboard the ultraATX one here

I think you need a whole PC upgrade as your MOBO, CPU, PSU and GPU are all are outdated
