    Hi there,

    I’m actually an (ex)Xbox Ambassador.

I don’t know if they’ve released the update yet, but currently, Xbox one S (XOS henceforth), is only compatible with 4K TV’s, unfortunately they are not compatible with monitors. I looked at the specs of your Monitor, and all is well, it should be compatible. However, unlike TV’s(smart TV’s that is), monitors can’t access the internet, so they can’t have firmware updated to be compatible with the XOS 4K connection. Microsoft could do it themselves, but don’t seem all that committed into sorting these problems. They namely have their ambassadors have a poll on what it is Microsoft should do next for the Xbox, and last I looked, I never saw anything regarding your problem. I can always access my account and push it forward (as I still have ambassador status, I just dropped helping). I can’t promise any results, but I can try for you.

To be honest, you need Microsoft to release the update to be compatible with the monitor, the best way would be to contact them directly over the phone I’m afraid. This is all the information I have for you, but I’ll quickly head over to the ambassadors section and see if I can dig anything else up for you.

I’ve had to re-write my post as I found a little bit more about the Xbox one X, which was slightly annoying but I believe I have some good news for you.

You see the XOS isn’t actually ready for 4k Gaming, its more for watching movies in 4K, it was more of a baseline do what they can do, now after some digging, I’ve found out that the Xbox One X, is going to be ready for all 4K screens. In fact, Xbox one X is being designed with support for 4K monitors in mind, with ideas to stop tearing and lag spikes whilst specifically playing on monitors. So the future is looking bright for your Monitor.

I must say though, this information is promising, but as with everything that’s new, there is bound to be some teething problems. Nothing has been set in stone, and there is no sole proof that the Xbox One X is going to be compatible with ALL monitors, but from what has been said, it is looking rather likely.

There may be (for now) some work arounds to get your monitor to respond to your xbox, I have a little trick you could try. Have you tried streaming your xbox one feed directly to your PC? and playing through your PC monitor? (there is a delay, but I’ve placed alot of Xbox games through my monitor, whether it’ll display in 4K however is down to your rig).
