More info about your PC will help us diagnose.

    Download Speccy.

What was the computer being used for at the time.

Have you been tinkering with the settings in the BIOS.

Have you done as is advised in your BIOS screenshot as in restored the MBs default factory settings.

What speed is the RAM and how many sticks of it do you have.

Two possible reasons, a system short or wake on LAN has somehow been enabled.

Fwiw, no way should your computer have been left connected to the mains power while you were sleeping, it possibly going on fire is the most important reason why not.

You get five minutes to edit a post, please use it rather than double or in your case quadruple post, thanks.

The RAM is not appropriate for your CPU, Intel state here up to 5600MHz/MT/s and if you have XMP enabled the RAM will get auto OCd past what the CPU can handle and the PC will become unstable.

Restore the MBs default factory settings in the BIOS like it it is telling you.

The reason why the PC is not restarting when you are in the BIOS is because the RAM is only working at its SPD rate and it is only once the system tries to fire up with XMP enabled that the computer falls over

Not sure how that can be when you say in reply #9 that XMP was enabled.

Two things that can result in BIOS settings not being kept are a bad BIOS chip and a CMOS battery that has expired, if either were the case you would get a checksum error every time you booted from after the PC had been shutdown and turned off.

The PSU is good quality but the model has documented issues, see notes 13 and 14 under High End units here

I have a big job on today so won`t be around for a while, I will check back later and good luck meanwhile.

You are welcome but can I ask that you do not quote every reply as we have to read the full post to make sure nothing gets missed, thanks.

Have you restored the MBs default BIOS settings and if yes how are things going.
