New PC boots slow

Recently I built a new pc, specs of which are below. It boots slow, last bios time was 34.8 seconds, but once it has booted into windows, it operates just fine. I have made sure to install ram properly and enable Expo. Also I have updated the bios to the recent version. Is this just an issue in the bios or is it a drive issue? Thanks.

Did you install the chipset drivers for the mobo?

Not originally. Just installed them and restarted the system. The bios time didn’t change. Is there anything I need to do/change in the bios since the chipset update?

Let’s get some more information:

Download and run the free version of speccy.

Once you have ran speccy, publish the scan by going to: File > Publish Snapshot.

Please list your power supply unit (manufacturer and model)

Try booting with only the boot drive connected.

AM5 has a weird “feature” where it re-trains the memory on every boot, there is a BIOS feature to disable this but I am struggling to remember it- let me look through your board manual to find out what it is called unless someone else can remember.

Sorry for the late response. I tried this and it didn’t affect the boot time

I see a problem with your parts list but before elaborating can I ask what actually happens in those 34.8 seconds as in does the screen stay black or the Windows dots spinning on the screen for two possible examples.

For around 28-29 seconds it is a black screen, then it displays the bios logo and boots in the remaining 6-7 seconds

Thanks to you all, I managed to get the boot time to 9.3 seconds. I enabled “Memory Context Restore” to prevent memory re-training and that solved it so thank you Pyro for the suggestion. You were all great help to me.

I will be happy for you if you have no further issues but I suspect that all that you have done is apply a sticking plaster to a problem that will emerge somewhere else but with different symptoms, that setting is there for a reason and a PC should run stable without the setting being changed.
